| Wow. A tear jerker! And not in a smarmy way, either. I was glued to the screen. Though I'd have liked more of a freakout on the part of Olivia... guess it was centered on Walter's reaction. Poor man, the thought of losing Peter again... Foreshadowing, paralleling the Peter story.. I would say this innoculates us against any real far out Peter freakout when he finds out, he knows now what that leads to, and doesn't fix. And I'm guessing perhaps Peter's mum IS dead....didn't Walter speak of her in the past tense? (And also kindly, twice; Walter is growing up.)
My one, my only quibble with the rest of the story is that while the kid could control people, he couldn't read their minds I don't think, and there surely would have been chances to knock him out--though I suppose Peter would have had to kill him, if he hadn't killed him the kid would have killed Peter and more...shows that Peter chose not to kill him. . .
And I totally did not see the Penrose thing coming!! So are the Tylers in stasis now?? And how creepy is that, that Tyler's father wasn't telling him the truth two different ways.....
And boy howdy, Nina is in the game big time! How long has Bell been gone? Sounded like those experiments had been going on a long time without Bell being over here to work on them.
All in all, like a one hour movie--riveting, fast paced, infuriating, upsetting, funny in places.... and Astrid got to DRIVE!!
(See what I mean about the so-called "stand alone" episodes being also part of the story? It doesn't have to be cortexiphan to matter.)

| that was a great episode!! more experiments, more clones (?), more clues about Walter's past (founding a company with Bell) and Peter's mother (i agree, that sounded as she was dead). and yes Nina is a master of deception, i'm guessing that Bell has been gone for a long time. and Astrid got to drive!!!!! | |

| I really enjoyed it. I feel that this episode was what Fringe needed after Earthling.
The end...I still can't form words when I think about it. When I was watching it, the only thing that kept repeating in my mind was "oh my God"

| WAIT WAIT STOP. I totally am pissed now. --quoting what I said in the spoiler section.. They cut out the scene where he disarmed that guy of his rifle, with his bare hands!! Now they're lying to us in the promos, and lying to Jackson too (by having him film action scenes, but taking them away from him in editing)? To make time for a scene in a stripper bar, or for more carnage at the convenience store? That sucks big time. Peter Bishop: lost umbrella. Yeah, that's a role I'd ask my agent to get for me. | |

| WOW. I just can say : WOW Excellent episode !!!! I'm very, very, very happy about it. It was great. Many interesting scenes, with ALL the characters. A lot of suspense, tension... it was really a big episode. I was a little bit optimistic about it, because the director is Joe Chappelle and I think he's a great director. A lot of very good ideas (pulsating white noise, the storyline about the abduction and the kid - and at the end... !! And Peter... and Astrid... and Walter !!! Excellent quotes from Walter !!!) well, all in this episode was very GOOD. I'm very happy !!! | |

| LOVED it. I spotted the Observer, behind a police car, and the two Simpsons Scavenger hunt Clues : I love Olivia's "He helps me too." GAH. Love the meeting between Walter and Nina, and Walter explaining that it was Bell who introduced him to Peter's mom ! Elliot, I don't think they cut this moment. I think "Peter disarming the guy" moment is in another episode. We had seen it in the "November episodes promo", not in the 2x07 promo. Which means we'll certainly see it later ! Little glances btw P/O were nice. At the end, Peter seemed -- for a second -- wondering if Walter had told any lie about his mother. The Penrose-Carson thing ?! YAY !!! I've been waiting to see the clones lying next to each other again for a long time ! And the file with the pictures of different Tylers... "Tyler01", "Tyler02".... //*Do you really think Tyler's mom left because of the drugs ? I was thinking, what if it was like that theory we have on Walter's mom : she would have left when she learned what he was doing to their child ? That he had cloned their child ? //* this doesn't mean Peter's a clone.Great episode, and a nice parallel with Peter's story. Elliot, did you notice the painting on the Bishop's house wall at the very end ?

yeah... at the end when she's near the ambulance and he's with Walter, that was nicely done - lezario wrote:

| They gave us a lot in the beginning, so I'm thinking they've toned it down a bit for now. They did that last season, too. | |

| At least we can bemoan together, 'cause I think by the time they get around to it, there Will be some nice History between the two. When the producers said they were going to wait until the chemistry seemed right, I was perturbed, but now I see some nice possibilities beginning to germinate (I hope! ). | |

| Food funny of the week was Astrid answering Walter about what human brains might taste like (or that's what she thought he said). "Seriously. Chicken?" "No, more like Pork." And I had the same "Huh?" reaction to the initial ransom demand. Nice way it unfolded how Tyler was Tyler #03. | |
