What's weird, of course, is we had that press release, then the spoilery promo last night
Spoiler:

(And unless they really make things better than that promo shows, they had best never again say they are worried about having the Peter/Olivia romance thing grow organically and naturally, because.....if that promo really shows what is going to happen....far fetched.
Spoiler:

And I have a theory why they inserted the resurrected episode when they did---as a preventative spoonful of P/O against next week's calamity. That and, if they didn't use it now, the Peter-monster will make it moot, or even more confusing.

Really, BR guys: buy a calendar, maybe make a chart...

Hey, it's unlocked, Hi!

I've said a couple of things on the Off Topic Thread, not too specific.

It was Astrid and Walter's show, although Peter and Olivia seemed to share just as much camera time.

Just last month I was reading a column on msnbc.com that, viruses act as individual organisms, until enough viruses get together, and they begin to differentiate into parameter vs. internal cells. They give up autonomy for group effort, team effort. Yeah, I know, sounds nuts, but, hydrophobia, rabies. I didn't know the virus couldn't survive in water. If it can survive in water, the laugh's on me, and the Fringe Science of viruses having a consciousness..........?

. . . isn't scientific, at all. There's still much doubt as to whether viruses are even alive.

But--it was still a great episode.

I am so happy about this episode !!
It's a fabulous episode. I was disappointed about the last two episodes then I'm so glad today, this is the first time that I choose a 10 !

I really love the relationship between the characters. At first, between Walter and Astrid. And between Walter and Peter. And last but not least, that relationship that grows between Olivia and Peter... When will they give themselves a bear hug ???!!

It was a great episode, I'm glad. grins
Again, again !

I really liked this last episode, too! smile
Joshua Jackson was amazing.........and really, really hot!
The writers should often propose this peter's crazy, violent, armed and shirtless version grins

1 - P/O. Gnneeee ! He sees her first when he wakes up, and her again when he wakes up again.... the fight was so good. And when he pointed his gun at her, you could see in his eyes that he suddenly remembered who she was and did not pull the trigger. Like he was fighting the virus like he was fighting the mindcontrol kid.

"That's just like you" We know you know her, Peter.
When she was stressing out when he was washing his arms....
Or her face when he told her he was fine and to open the door....

"Lucky for me that you were"

And all the looks..... And the discussion about Rachel...

2 - Rachel. She was certainly very young when her mother died, and I'm sure Olivia took care of her.
If she's still having nightmares about Olivia being dead, I understand why she was "off for the week end".
She might have needed some time out of town.

3 - Walter, Walter, Walter. WALTER. WE GOT THAT PETER WAS DEAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAADDDD.
NO MORE REFERENCES TO THAT PLEASE. RMMMMMMMHH.

4 - I loved the different versions, by -amazing- Josh, of "Olivia". "Please, you gotta open this door !"
The nice one, the puppy eyes one, and the angry one.... "Olivia ! Oleeveiiiaa ! OLIVIA !!!"

5 - The biggest disappointment was the virus, well, more the cure of the virus. Very disappointed there wasn't something "more" about this mysterious virus.

6 - Astrid freaking out about "Peter dying again"...... Hm,......

7 - BROYLES ! "People like my family in there" ! I LIKE YOU, TOO BROYLES !

8 - That wasn't shirtless to me. That was longsleeveshirtless... rraaah.
Would have loved a more "TOPLESS" uhm, but eh, maybe next time ? *crosses fingers*

9 - "The cure is out there. They're lying to us." Feeling double meaning here.
I don't know why, this whole virus thing is weird.......

10 - Peter switching tests.......

Good episode, something missing though....

Not in the mood to upload the numerous eastereggs... will do it later.

One thing I can upload now :

Good boy, Peter.

Or, rather, the Alpha-male Peter version, where that power is focused on the bad guys instead. As in him dealing with Michael, and threatening Dr. Sumner if he imprisoned Walter any longer.

That Peter is much hotter, and nobody feels like they have to take a shower from the inside out after watching it; rather you can cheer.

Well, that was a disappointment. And as someone with a geology degree, quite a bit aggravating to watch. I was actually embarrassed for Josh with the scenes of all the "infected" just standing there trying to kick the windows. That was beyond stupid, not to mention a waste of an opportunity to show Peter's IQ. It's 190 for heaven's sake. Somehow I think he could manage to find a better way to escape than randomly kicking glass. The other lady was able to jump from the upper stories.

Cliche bad CDC guy was stupid too. They had the cure, *and* a way to put them to sleep. 10 extra minutes my keister. The "these people are like my family" line seemed out of place too. While Broyles may feel it, it's not like him to say it. I would have expected a different tactic from him. I'm also getting a bit annoyed with all the metastatements, particularly Walter's little meltdown at the science center. Just spit it out already, Fringe. I get it, a "door" has been opened and that's baaaaaaaad.

Only part I like was Peter's dad-ness. He really is able to take care of people, and I suspect that's the true him, and not the remote person....uh...the Iraqi episode showed him as. Not that I'm saying he wasn't a remote "me first" guy, just that's it's not his nature. Whatever happened in his childhood must have triggered that flight reflex, until Walter finally came back into his life.

No doomed relationship! That's too cheesy. A kiss on the cheek will have to do. Or some really intense hugging and gazing.

It was, wasn't it? I really loved how they all had to work together to solve the problem... each of them had their part and they all came through even in a really bad situation.

*Astrid following Walter's lead and taking off her helmet when she finds out Peter is infected was really fine. Girl is definitely family now.
*And Olivia yelling at Peter to stay away from the body, even after he's infected; she thinks she's not emotionally invested in him, but her actions show she is.

These actions---I hope they write lots more scenes like this. You don't have to have dialogue declarations, or big emo scenes, for the characters to show how they really feel.

Thanks, BR.

I agree with Observer 101, this was one of the best Stand Alone episodes of the two seasons.

Viruses who compell their hosts to break through windows may be a little much, but I was very intrigued by Walter saying that the rabies virus can't live in water, one of the reasons it's victims have an overpower fear of water. "Hydrophobia" is another term for rabies.

Nice to see 10 votes on the anonymous "rate it" poll, I hope more folks in the future will give input. grins

And the fight in the parking garage Rocked! "Stay Down" was about as much mercy as could be expected from Delusional Peter. But at least he didn't shoot her. smile

That was pretty cool, when he managed to keep the virus from killing her---that slight double take, 'stay down!'... as in, don't get in the virus' way, it wants out and I can't stop it but I don't want to kill you. As when he managed not to blow Broyles' head off.

The rabies virus, like most viruses, can't live long outside its host (it's not a spore former). But that's not why humans with rabies fear water; rabid dogs can drink water just fine (until their tongue gets paralyzed); humans' jaws get paralyzed and trying to swallow is hugely painful.

Did anyone notice when they jerked Peter back from the main entrance door, his face was already getting those 'cracks' the dead folks had on their faces?

Oh, and how about that Gigantic Blue light after the elevator doors opened, Peter was unconscious, big blue flash, then Olivia was shown, also unconscious.

Ah, thanks for the info on rabies, Elliot. Gosh, sounds like another adisease, Lockjaw, or tetnus.
