Or Anna doesn't know how to use a gun.

But I'd rather believe in option number 1.

My dad used to say as the rabies virus grows so fast in the nerve root that if you were bit on the face, it would reach your brain before the injections could work, and the best course of action would be to have the flesh around the wound removed.

I don't mind the medical stuff being wonky, that was all just to make a field for the wonderful character work in this episode. I can't expect the writers to have medical degrees, and that's not what the show is about, it is about these folks and their amazing trippy jouney. All the development they have made... Peter foregoing a life of crime, Walter drawing back from madness, Olivia learning to accept criminals and madmen.... fantastic.

I hadn't noticed the veins, Cathy! Good catch. Or the trigger/non finger, Lez. Have to rewatch later on in the week.

Nowhere near the trigger! That's my girl, Olivia!
Thanks.

You're welcome.

At first I thought Anna didn't know what a trigger was, but then, when she said "I'm here to help you"....

Always keep your eyes on Olivia's hand, that's my motto.

Absolutely !!

Yes, you are absolutely right. I noticed that. It's crystal clear. Of course she doesn't want to shoot him. She's just scared of his behavior.

And it is great to see them all getting out of the lab. I love the lab, but it is nice to see them interacting with other people. The kid's museum scene was great for Waltery stuff, mythology stuff (open a door?? only 18/250-odd returned? big broad hints...) and Astrid stuff. Nice to see Astrid stepping up, and also Peter being more of a full fledged investigator with Olivia, not only babysitting. I like seeing the growth. I hope this week's is as strong--the promo looks very interesting.

Astrid is getting more lines and work to do.

And I can't get this line out of my mind. "That's just like you." An the way Peter was looking at Olivia. smile

So, any theories about what the Blue light meant after showing Peter in the elevator unconscious and before showing Olivia unconscious?

I haven't seen that large a blue flash since Olivia (and maybe also Peter) turned the light box off last year to stop Jones' bomb.

I have seen it, in Grey Matters, at the very beggining of the episode....

Could that be a "soft spots" thing ?

Definitely.

Or, it might even been more active than that. I wonder sometimes on the blue light, if it's "Others" actively Watching us.

Yes, I noticed this blue light. It was so visible, I think it must be significant indeed.
I have no idea of the meaning of this blue light, I can't find a common fact between the different situations where this blue light appears. Of course there's a bond with the other universe, but what exactly... ? As you said, Cathy, maybe it's in connection with the Observers... It's an interesting theory !
But what could be the meaning of the blue light when Olivia was remembering the John's memories ?

Nice thought, Stephy, the blue lights were all over the initial trip, the one with the canoe in the pilot.

Usually you have to hit me over the head with the blue lights, but I laughed at the thought, "Lets make it super obvious so even fans [like me] will be able to see the lights this time!"

It's probably not as simple as "Something supernatural's occuring here, People!"
I'd have to go back and watch "Star Trek" again, I think the time travel that took place invited blue light occurance. I was on a "the lights mean strong emotion", but that didn't hold up with the movie, there were strong emotions going on sometimes without a blue light in sight. The bridge was where I noticed them most. scratch

Loads of blue lights in The Arrival when Peter is telling Olivia he will stay for that one case, then he is leaving. Also in the chase scene with Electro-Guy, just before Peter clotheslines him with the crowbar, though not as much as in The Arrival.

I've been thinking of them as 'change points', where decisions influence the event stream for that reality; which could fit with them being Observed points.

I'm sure there is a list somewhere of where all they occur...anyone know?

I like that.

When I first watch Fringe, I think I saw 8 episodes in a weekend... and my first thought, before going on forums, was that we were skipping through different universes at every blue light......

"Decisions influence the event stream....." That could help tie in why "Star Trek" was packed with them, although the two mythologies should be unconnected.

I thought we had a Blue Light thread going for a while, but I didn't come across it this morning.

There's blue lights, then there's BLUE LIGHTS, like me, for the blue light impaired!!!

But I don't think that's the answer !

If they said they would do only two universes, I doubt we would be skipping through hundreds of them ?

Yes, yes, only two universes, Captain Pinkner said.

But "decisions influencing the event stream" could apply to both "Fringe" and "Star Trek", without suggesting they're related at all.

I like the idea, even if I don't think it applies in this case. Change points, I really do think that is at least part of what is going on... the flashes come at times when things happen that turn out later to be...Fringey... and the beacon was certainly Fringey. Wonder if we will see it again any time soon?

Ooh, this is a very interesting theory too !!
I think it could explain all the blue lights... I like this idea.
Elliot, you have probably found a great explanation !

The blue lights could appear also when the points of view are changing ; when they're crossing the line between two minds, two consciences (in the same universe or between the two realities...) drunken
