I hated it.

Truly.

It looked like they were going with all the junk I feared most: supergoddess Olivia, posessor of world saving talents, needing no one else, no humans needed. Peter an employee, a coward, a hanger-on, a useful tool. Walter's transgressions a good thing for having made her into a tool. (We've had this discussion in roundabout ways before, I think.) It violated almost all the things the producers had already promised, and seemed to be turning its back on adult viewers in favor of the videogamer crowd.

But........ that isn't where they were going with the story, was it?

And we have had some answers to some of my questions on that already: now she speaks. And they dialed back on the hokey and horrendous superhearing pretty quickly. Walter's even owning some misdeeds, not simply hiding behind bad memory or expedience. I think they will also address the Peter/Olivia/who turned the lights out question in a way that will mollify both O and P fans.

I was greatly pleased for example to see Olivia hesitate before going back for Peter in WLB--she did wait for protocol before rushing back in (human), he bested her in the fight (both human), he restrained the virus from killing her at his hands (ok, little super-peter there!).

It's that kind of story development that makes me laugh at the folks who hate standalones. They don't see! There are no standalones. Every episode develops characters, brings the story forward. Not all episodes deal with Big Secrets Involving MASSIVE DYNAMIC AND CONSPIRACY---but they all deal with character.

My favorite quote from Wyman and Pinkner is now them saying they aren't making a show that is about secrets, but about how the characters act on revelations. It's a much more human way to focus a story.

I don't either.

But I think you already know what I think about normal women.

Yes, I think I do. We may be partial to freaks in this lab, but we like real humans better.

Watching this for the 3rd or 4th time, I was prepared for all kinds of protests on how little Peter spoke, it was noted he had like, 7 lines.

Orlando Bloom made a joke once that his character in "Lord of the Rings" was based mostly on how earnest he could look while standing and watching other people talk .

So, with the nerdy LOTR reference, I've never seen Peter so 'involved' while spending a lot of time hanging in the back and listening. If this is the springboard he's coming from to go into Whatever It Is He's Going To Go Into when he gets The Big News, I like it very much.
Even give him more to say!

I imagine Olivia is going to be the mum one once the Other Universe Origin conversation launches between Peter and Walter. I hope there's a referee!

She's his link to this side. And once he will have a day out of town, to think about Walter, he'll just come back to her, and will sloooowly forgive Walter.

Both Olivia and Peter were sort of "abused" by Walter, but Olivia, despite her anger, seems as she wanted to forget Walter did that. She yelled, confronted him, and now it's over. And I hope Peter will do the same.

I was in vacation, two years ago, with one of my best friend, and we had a fight.
But an hour later, we agreed that people who are meant to be together, always fight for insignificants things compared to what they lived/shared together.

Yes.

Walter and Peter have been this tight knit pair, Olivia a bit on the out... I can see she and Walter making an odd little alliance of not telling Peter for a bit (though that's a mistake) and then she and Peter while they figure out how to get past their pasts, and move forward.

One of the nice things from Johari Window was Walter saying 'he didn't change, only our perception of him did" (maybe not quite the exact wording but close). Olivia will figure that out. And neither she nor Peter hold grudges now, he's forgiven Walter for what he knew he did, and Olivia is doing that..... they will remember that they want to be together because of who they are, together.

During whatever fighting they have them all do on screen when they get to that part, I'll just stick my fingers in my ears and know there will be forgiveness.

.......that wasn't Mr. Replaceable Body with the glasses, it was someone else.
Did you think there was something odd about the glyphs after the Manhatan scenes? They seemed different.

---Walter said that extreme fear, love or anger could trigger the seeing via cortexiphan.

---so, the iv will wear off after a while, and Peter, who senses the others naturally, will have to detect for her?? Because he doesn't want her to be subjected to that again.

---I looked at the scene again "there's someone else here"--looked a bit like someone in a coat, like Olivia a bit.

---what kind of tracks were those, on the log?

The hand on the daycare center had only five fingers !

I'll look at the tracks again...

yes, the hand! Speaking of the glyphs, the 'official ones'... the daisy has an altered center, the leaf has the delta symbol in it, the frog has theta (or is it phi?), the hand has six fingers, the apple has two fetuses, the rams horn has numbers on it... what else? I need to look at them again too.

It's Phi.

Don't you think the mark where Olivia is sitting (in the burnt room) look like a stretched apple glyph ?

You know I do. At least, I saw that this morning when I looked at it again.

-------Does the first frog glyph this time look pinker than all blue? Or is it my tv, dying?

There was one on the wall, next to the Dinosaurs poster, that was blue...
On the outside wall, it looks more green than blue.

I meant, the code one at the break to commercial.

I did love how the glyphs at the center were 'normal', not like the changed ones in the adult world.

My eyes are gummy today, could be me. Or the dying tv. I'll hunt for caps online to see if it's just in my universe.

The lights out the window of MD, when they were hunting for the building, were all red. Everything out the windows was tinted red.

Re: the Glimmer:
---so if Peter and the building are/were glowing because of being from Over there, that doesn't make sense as it was a normal building from here, that was being sucked away to over there. Which would mean what Olivia was seeing was everything-both from there, and what might be going to go over there.

I mean, nice effect and all (gravity lensing) but------- oopsie.
