2x20 "Northwest Passage" - Spoilers

Hm. Newton wants a stable doorway------but he also seems to want Peter. He could have just kidnapped him already when he took Walter's memories, right? Broken into their house with his goons? Or couldn't he?

And soon Olivia will find out how special he is... *wink wink*

Bad Robot are too smart to make this a Dawn-key thing all the way through, so I don't think Newton intends to sacrifice him immediately to get the door open---maybe he is gunning for him to take him to see Walternate who has just arrived? That won't sit well at all with Peter, to have people killed so Walternate can get him.

Interesting to see in the promos Peter so armed.. sidearm, and it looked like racking a shotgun towards the end of the clip....he must feel terribly alone and vulnerable, I bet he was glad to hear Broyles' voice even if it galled him to have to call and ask for help.

I'm really excited to see this episode.

Peter is a strong boy! I think he feel alone but not vulnerable. He's very brave!

I'm excited too, and especially Olivia asking Broyles if he knows something. You can't bluff Olivia, Agent Broyles. Especially if it has something to do with Peter.

Being fearless doesn't mean you're safe, and Peter has been around enough to know that. And until he does know exactly what is up with him, he is vulnerable --and he is smart enough to know that too.

That is one of the very best things about the writing on Fringe: they are not plastic superheroes, they are human and mortal and have to use human smarts and resources and emotion to make their way through what they are experiencing.
So much more interesting than cartoon figures with super powers.

I've just remembered that Noble talked about a faboulous episode where peter will learn the truth about his RE-BIRTH. The original title was "coming home" but i think that it was changed in "northwest passage"! (coming home.....home=alter world)

But what did Noble mean with the word "re-birth"?? I'm very curious! *__*

A metaphor? I don't know....We could find out new details about Peter's identity in this episode! I hope so!

What I meant is "rebirth" could be a metaphor for Peter knowing the truth about him, and seeing himself as a different person.

Peter says he may be a "ghost" in Fracture..

Maybe he died for a couple of minutes, and then was brought back to life ?

Oh.....And the forest in the promo reminds me the tall trees from Olivia’s dreamworld in “Jacksonville” and the yellow pine tree from “Inner Child” !
So we have pine tree symbol in "Inner Child", Pine tree on Nick Lane’s arm in "Bad Dreams", pine tree symbol practically yelling at us in Man From the Other Side, and now looks as though a showdown b/w Peter and Newton will take place in a forest. And if you pay attention to the promo, it seems that Newton is shooting Peter (or a tree next to peter) with a kind of YELLOW syringe.
So we have both the forest and the yellow again!

Coincidence??

And don't forget that in Brown Betty, Olivia says :
"Do you mean is a hot shower better than drowning in a pine coffin ?"

It may be, but I'm not convinced...'pine coffin' is really common speech here in the USA. "Buried him in a pine coffin." It's cheap, softwood, doesn't last. And that was a cheap packing crate they jammed her into.

The Northwest forest is largely pine & other conifers-- I can see several different kinds including yellow pine out my window here. And the tatoo on that actor was his own, pre-Fringe.

The yellow, though-------that's Newton trying to shoot Peter with a tranquilizer dart, so he wants him alive yet subdued...

Mmmmm....Do you really think the guy with Newton in the promo is the "secretary"? Because if it be so, we should exclude Walternate. Maybe this guy was sent by Walternate to help Newton to capture Peter

Yes, I just rewatched it, and.... it could be Mr Secretary. I'm not fond of the theory "it could be Walternate".
It could be, though.



The first thing that caught my eyes was this : Whose hands are these ?!

The hand in the last pic could be Peter's.
