| Well, this one was frustrating, mostly because I want Peter to find out and get this over with! A vocal "RRrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!" at the end of the show. It's always nice to see Sam Weiss, I really like the guy. No worrying about possible romantic involvement for Shippers (although he definitely has a certain charm), he probes at Olivia's uncertainties and gets past her defenses better than others. "You picked the Observatory 3 times." Or something like that. Although the title reference was obvious to me, I still chuckled when Sam actually brought a "Clue" game over to play with Olivia. And Major kudos to Diane Kruger for being the Death of the Week! When I first heard she was going to be on the show, my initial thought was, "The Benchies are frustrated enough as it is, don't be bringin' Real Life Girlfriends into the scenario. Because of who it was, it was downright funny to kill her off in the first 3 minutes. I couldn't look at some of the lab body shots, in a show which features Gross, that was particularly gross to me. Cancer you can catch by touch. So, now the Cortexifan kids are down to a dozen or so, according to Nina and Broyles at the end of the show. Odd that his cancer stopped once the coma was induced. His Ability Really s****! Other thoughts. Glad to see the Peter Reveal Burden taken off Olivia. Please, please, writers of "Fringe", let this be in the next episode. If I'd voted last night, it would have been a "7", but only because I'm ready for this to be Resolved! But my pleasure at seeing Sam Weiss softened my reaction a bit. I know some fans aren't crazy about him, but I think he brings out something in Olivia that nobody else does. And that's my episode report. *thinks* For the moment. Happy Friday! | |

| (I moved my post from last night here, so someone besides me will read it.)Now I know why Josh mumbles sometimes--so does Diane. Skeevy disease of the week.... and Ow! Poor Peter. Josh makes Peter's fear of losing love very touching, and Anna makes Olivia's anguish at that fear and the fear of hurting him painful too. (I'm crying, and also imagining trying to reassure Lynda when we watch this that it's not a soap opera, that the secret of Peter's origin makes this not a soap...) . . . may I just say, I love Nina! She's a master of the low call. Blair puts real power into that cut. Is it possible to be malicious in a good way? OK, so the Sam Weiss guy is not so fake seeming now. One up to Cathy. (and did anyone else have a commercial with fake tv news twitter updates about cats in rainboots? I love it!)Olivia! Don't let that guy near you! !! Olivia, scrabbling for the phone, calling Peter for help. Good girl, your subconscious knows what to do. Well done, Anna. And I can't look, I don't want to see her get hurt. And I'm hollering at the tv, kill him! Which is most unlike me, but that's my Olivia (ok, Cathy's, but there was just me to protect her until Peter got there with the cavalry.) ...with the candlestick. And he does bring the cavalry! YAY Bad Robot! And I think things will be ok. *speed dial*
(Love how Peter is seeing why she called him first, and Olivia is too, now that he asks her about it... --the confusion and --is that longing?) Anna and Josh are both putting out that they are on tiptoes, without actually standing on tiptoes. Very well done, you two. Bravo, Brava.

| The candlestick! I didn't catch it until you said that, Elliot! Josh mumbled back in "Dawson's Creek" days, but I also think that was because what a script-heavy show that was, like "Fringe". Did Diane mumble? I'll have to watch it again. I gave most of my impressions (which weren't many) over on the Poll Thread. I'm glad you're warming to Sam! And she's not 'my' Olivia, she's yours, too. That was an odd conversation between Olivia and Nina. Nina pretends to be an impartial observer, but I don't think she is. Nina's protective of Peter too, although why, I don't know. You did a nice little play by play there, Elliot! *claps* I think I totally missed the cat in rainboots commercial. I'll check it again tonight. I'm not sure what you mean that Anna and Josh are both on tiptoes, but it's a nice image. As in, leaning towards each other? Happy Friday, Elliot! I'm looking forward to more reactions. And hunting down the remaining 12 cortexifan kids. Surely Massive Dynamic can do that more quickly than the FBI. And I can't wait to see what powers emerge. Should I assume Newton woke Cancer Boy up? Sad that he thought he would have lived out his life normally if he hadn't been activated. But no excuse to go around sucking the Life Force out of others. I didn't know exchanging energies was part of Tantric Sex. And now I think I'm too old to find out! Supposedly there's superhuman restraint involved in Tantric sex, but my only frame of reference is something Woody Harrelson said once, not the best source of information. Goes to check on tantric sex in Wikipedia. | |

They both swallow their lines, she talks like she was from Connecticut, all closed jaw/pursed lips like words are too precious for the likes of you.

She is!

As in, emotionally leaning. (Speaking of Leaning, have you seen "While You Were Sleeping?) And as in carefulness, both on the point of almost revealing what they feel, but not quite... lots of anticipation but very closely held.
Happy Friday, Elliot! I'm looking forward to more reactions. And hunting down the remaining 12 cortexifan kids. Surely Massive Dynamic can do that more quickly than the FBI. And I can't wait to see what powers emerge.
Twelve plus 30. The Ohio trials too....

No, not Newton, the guy with the glasses, I thought---the one who woke up the fire-girls.
Tantric sex, yes, a lot about restraint--and some of the weirder positions, requiring a LOT of limberness.
Goes to check on tantric sex in Wikipedia. One thing that did not ring quite true in this episode was Peter's lack of science-weird fact exposition. I know they gave a lot of those lines to the ME, but still, he was oddly quiet on that front. He knew about the touch of death thing, but didn't chime in any more on any of the stuff he normally would have.

So I've broken down and looked at most of the spoiler photographs up to and including "Brown Betty". It doesn't look like Peter's finding out anytime soon.
So, spoiler tag me if need be. Do you have an idea? - Spoiler:
Do you think they might wait until the Finale? I'll go mad!

I think - Spoiler:
Peter finds out the episode before, 2.18. This musical episode is told by Walter, so he can make whoever appear in this fantastic story. I'm exhausted !

Thanks for the theory that Peter will find out NEXT WEEK! I hope so!That's where the musical would venture, from Walter's head to the audience. Not a bad plot device. And apparently he'll come around fairly soon. The explosion I anticipated may not occur. That would be nice.

an explosion, but not perhaps the way we thought at first. I'm still hoping to "meet" some of Peter's old acquaintances and enemies in this time, though--- all those hints they have dropped would be useful now, I think.

| No, I didn't see the Jasika interview. Guess I should! - Spoiler:
That would make sense that it would play out over the rest of the episodes, I'd probably enjoy that. I just want it out in the open sooooon! I think it prejudiced my opinion of this episode. Even if I got to see Sam Weiss. With the exception of that crazy business card occurance, everything he's done with Olivia has seemed like normal psychotherapy, or at least counseling. Or being a good listener. A positive influence. And she was at a place where she needed it. I still get a kick out of the bowling lane where she drew the gun on him, and then he looked over at her cane left by the bench. Still one of my favorite moments of the season.

| Here we go, 1. I was disappointed not to see a six fingered hand Anyway ! That "bad" guy was nice, although... he reminded me of Meegar in 1x05 Power Hungry.... mixed with that guy who was aging rapidly.... Well, the actor was nice, I liked him. 2. I liked that they used the chart on the wall, I had tried to read all the names, but the only one that had caught my attention was "Nick L." It's nice to have a case linked to Olivia, and yet, we didn't learn that much. It felt like they were still on the surface. 3. Walter and Olivia.... it is a relationship I really like. I love them, even if this "little" secret they were keeping during the episode made Peter looked like a freaking idiot. 4. About that car scene. I loved that Peter had this typical "so we're good" speech that we can hear in almost EVERY drama tv shows Except in Fringe, the kiss wasn't the point. And yet, I think Peter knew there was something else. I guess he just wanted to make sure everything was fine between them. 5. Olivia has Peter on speed dial. *GRINS*. And who knows, maybe M. "Iyer" was a former cop ? I loved the P/O looks.... and Peter being all "smiley" the whole episode... "Well done, walter"...smiling when the medical examiner said Walter was "a good man", when a year ago he would have killed just by staring at you. It felt like the end of Edina City Limits (Well, Johari Window). WE GOT THE POINT. 6. Walter finally realizing he had to tell him. WELL THAT WAS ABOUT TIME. But I love that Walter came to that realization, and that he was not forced into it. 7. About Sam. I like Sam. I understand she couldn't go to see Peter about this secret. I really like him... and seeing him coming to Olivia's appartment with a Clue game... that made my day. And I loved when he admitted he wasn't a gumshoe like Olivia... but that he fad "other talents". I can't wait to see everything he can do. What I wonder is, does he know all the things about universe travelling because of Nina, or did he witnessed something as a kid ? 8. Astrid....... AHEM. She does exist, doesn't she ? 9. I liked Nina in this episode. I don't know why, but I think she's a P/O shipper too. 10. I LOVED the cropping.... the whole episode I was looking at all the shots, so nice. Recap : nice episode, yet something was definitely missing... about the case, mostly. But I want to meet the one who made the screenplay. And such a nice lighting, too. And I agree on the "man who came to see him". I think that's the guy with the glasses, the same as the Twin one. | |

| Yay! And I thought you were exhausted! That was inspiring. I even printed up your entry for perusal. Enough of my whining about no Peter origin reveal yet. Seeing Diane Kruger's face surprised me so much I didn't even notice what Cancer boy looked like. Yes, I knew she was going to be on, but I had a hearty laugh when I realized she was going to be the "Eewww" moment. That's not really a reply to anything you said, I just realized I half-a**ed my impression due to pouting. Good job, Diane Kruger! Cool that you liked the bad guy. He didn't stand out for me, but his condition certainly did. The Fringe Science was kind of iffy to me this episode. Short of injecting someone with live cancer cells, why wasn't the cancer eating him up as rapidly as his victims? I noted that the lawyer and the apartment guy died of two different kinds of cancer, that was interesting. Olivia couldn't have sent out more negative signals to Peter than if she was an electrified fence. Did Cathy just say something critical about Olivia? Mayyyybe.Number 4 on your list had me laughing. Well, maybe only in my head, but you're right. That was funny. These two have to start developing more of a rapport behind the wheel. I know it was supposed to be a little awkward because she's withholding a secret, but, Olivia! Peter! Start watching the car scenes in "Bones"! (Even though I don't watch "Bones" that much anymore, they ace their car scenes) Astrid was MIA this show. Hmmm. Didn't notice, and I love Astrid. She got the week off perhaps. The speed dial thing, *shrug*, I Loved her retort, "Because Rachel wasn't home and the guy at the Noodle House couldn't help." Broad paraphrase, sorry, Show. Yep. Is Sam a little odd because he's been Over There? What's his deal? I don't think we're going to learn that anytime soon. But you talk about grinning, I did when he flashed the "Clue" game. This show likes board games. Nina, P/O Shipper. Hmmmmm. Possibly, you're right. She's plenty interested in Agent Dunham, too, isn't she? Very nice "Here we go"! | |

| Yes, in this episode. When Cancer guy goes to Nick Lane's house, Nick's aunt is working on a puzzle, and you can see it's the Touch of God If curing people by touching was an ability, I guess we could call Ned from Pushing Daisies !!! | |

| It was the Sistine Chapel ceiling image, Cathy, where God sparks life into Adam. (Lez, we call it The Creation here, not the Touch of Life, but that is of course what it is.) I've been wondering if that is something relating to Peter's ability--- that (creepy) book The Land of Laughs, the writer guy makes things live by thinking it. Then there's the Peter/Walter discussion in bad dreams where Peter talks about if you can imagine a better world, you can make a better world, and Walter says, or travel to one, and Peter's hair stands up on the back of his neck as Walter has just walked on Peter's grave (and his abilities..?) - Cathy904.1 wrote:

Olivia couldn't have sent out more negative signals to Peter than if she was an electrified fence. Did Cathy just say something critical about Olivia? Mayyyybe. Oi! Yeah, the science wasn't so hot. I thought afterwards, this was not really a monster/disease of the week, it was sort of mythos.... but it was mostly shipping! That knocked me back a bit. Nina: "you start to have feelings for them.... you aren't ready to lose him." She's not, and Nina and Olivia both know it. -----Although I felt really bad for Peter, as he is madly trying to not mess things up with Olivia by scaring her off, and thinking he has, I didn't end up feeling angry at Olivia. (OK: I was at the writers up to last week, because I don't think Olivia would be scared off by Peter being From Away.)------She was scared at what would happen to Peter if she told him, and what would happen to them. Really, this Olivia was the most likeable in a long time: open, vulnerable, warm--all the things I've seen Anna can be and wondered where Olivia's soul had gotten to. I think the writers could have slid gradually into this place, instead of just flipping a switch, but I'm glad she is there now.
