..looks like he figures it out himself? I hope that's so. I hope it isn't in the last few minutes, either.

Hi Guys!
Ew, Lez, your signature! Although, after watching last night's (White Tulip) show, I can see the attraction for a gross-out signature.
Oh, Darn! I just realized I voted a week early for the show. I just rolled out of bed! I'll ask Elliot or Lez to remove the vote.

Wow. They are really doing horror well now! Reminding me of The Invaders.
The shapeshifter embryo was scary and fascinating, and of course the stupid stoned teenager was stupid and stoned enough to poke at it...quibble #1: they are also able to accumulate identity and adult knowledge with that device?!? and encapsulate the transformer in the organic, obligate-slimy embryo?!?--*snork*. Ah, well. Equally scary and fascinating is them trying to reanimate it. Truly ghastly, because of the implied danger to our crew. Wonder how you go about requisitioning a corpse nobody minds you using up? Maybe Walter & Co. should just store some for future use. Maybe they already have.
It will be a relief to have the re-set of emotions once the storm has passed, it was getting overly sweet.....maybe that's just the foreboding, but it has felt set a bit too high. No matter how much I want Peter and Walter re-established, and Peter and Olivia firmly established, the regressed doting child Peter has become has been increasingly uncomfortable to watch. The Peter we fell for was not submissive or that vulnerable, and has sharper, rougher edges too.
Quibble #2: Astrid needs to have someone else decipher codes for her? Math the Bishops can't figure out? I know it was a setup to get them to Brandon, but I miss having Astrid and Peter doing the explaining of weird science for the masses.
I love how creepy Newton and his little friends are; and also how there are implied frictions and factions within the Others. Bodes well for our side to see them being snotty with each other, and questioning each other's authority and bona fides. The tuning forks thing... well, getting really dopey, but who cares anymore, I just want this phase of the story to get done. I also want hair & makeup to get Josh's hair cut short again, but it's too late for this season now, I guess.
Nice Olivia executing that shapeshifter for using a cellphone! Yow! She really does shoot first and ask questions later. At least this time she wasn't shooting Peter. How many people has she killed this season, anybody count?
And more poignancy on the bridge, and heroics on the part of the Bishops, and Peter risking his life for our side--Olivia's anguished look-- Peter protecting his father.........oh the irony. ----yes, the Ultimate Peter Fan is wrung out by weeks of this. This storyline has expanded like a kintted cotton blanket that used to fit a twin bed but will now cover a queen-sized one. Peter's days in the wilderness and the resolution better be worth it, BR!
And it's obvious from how shifty and devious Peter looks when he wakes that he knows. Kudos to the writers for letting him figure it out himself---though, what, in the second between getting his eardrum ruptured and passing out? Or was he playing possum before he opened his eyes? And sweet Olivia passing off her worry as Walters', and also trying to press again how much Walter loves Peter... nicely done interference-running and sublimation, Olivia!
Interesting how wicked Joshua makes Peter look, with those devious glances. I think so much love has been lavished on John Noble that sometimes we forget how skilled Mr. Jackson is. He seems scarily unapproachable and brittle, wrong somehow and rather dangerous, but in a hard to define way--part of the horror ethos of the episode, somehow. Well done.
And Walter's devastation is heart rending. The only false note is that he doesn't explain directly that Peter would have died; it's the soap-opera staple of faltering and failing to explain at the point it still could have made a difference. Interesting having Elizabeth's suicide be because of guilt--I find that likely; but will Walter explain to Peter that she wouldn't let Walter take him back, or suck up that blame? Walter seemed more cowed than fearful of losing Peter, but it wasn't a rage-filled scene on Peter's part. I was disappointed in there not being a sort of cleansing angry, towering rage; perhaps that is to come. These three people need to really tell each other the truth, it's about time.
Any guesses as to who Mr. Secretary is? I think I know.
Saving my 10 for --you know. So, a solid 9.
The promo for Brown Betty makes sense of that episode; a perfect Raymond Chandler story, searching for the young man who stole something and turns out to be the son. Gene with party-dots! In R-y-b, I think! Plus them saving each other, and dancing!! P/O moments!! I can hardly wait.

Tadadadahhhh
1. GROSS. Seriously, the third shifter.... it was not only the visual that was gross, but also the SOUNDS IT WAS MAKING. ARHHHHHH. So gross. And cool, at the same time. I was sad for this... "thing", cause it didn't seem to be bad. The way the shifter said "i'm sorry", made me think he somewhat knew that what will happen at 3:31pm had something to do with Walter.
2. Mr Secretary....... Not a shifter, not a woman (???)... my first thought was "Cool ! A new character !". And then, could it be someone we already know ? Walternate ? (the nose and the hand...) or Alternate Bell, or... OP ????
3. Love the lighting in some scenes..... the music, also. The editing was nice, the crops.... some very cool things but I've seen better.
4. Loved Peter. I loved how he was looking at Olivia at the end, knowing she must have known this secret. And the ice ! I don't know if that was supposed to be a metaphore, but... Peter made the icecube Olivia gave him melt
A girl can dream.
5. The teenager was certainly HEAVILY STONED to go and poke that thing. I would run away as fast as could, called the cops....... Anyway.
6. Astrid. Hm, poor Astrid. I liked Walter and the pie Peter and him were supposed to make earlier... Now they have to tell Astrid.
7. I LOVE Newton. I'd love to see him next season. It's nice to keep him with the same face, so that we can at least have a "constant" point. Shape shifting is very disturbing, changing identity several time and not being born with a real one... they don't have name as far as we know.... Partically machines... hm. Peter mentionned shifters are soldiers. We all know that some soldiers are being lied to, some are unconscious about why they're fighting...... I'd like to see some "good" shifters.
8. In the previous episode, Walter writes in his letter that Peter doesn't know "how special" he is. I don't think the fact he's from the other side is the only reason he survived, he is special. And the guy from over there ? He must have something special too, he looked bad afterward, but it wasn't disentegrated like that poor FBI agent......
9. If I were a man, or a girl who loved women, I would marry Olivia. When they arrived to the bridge, I saw the two cops and thought "SHAPESHIFTERS" ! When the guy took his cellphone to call his sergeant, SERIOUSLY ? Come on, who would call his superior with his cell ??? And Olivia just taking her gun and shooting him, YES. I felt like Olivia for half a second. I would definitely marry her if she wasn't a TV show character. Peter, you know what to do. You won't find this type of girl again, boy. *AHEM*
10. A very nice episode, Peter figuring himself out what was going on is great, putting all the -puzzle- pieces together.
I'll give a 9, because...... I would loved just a little bit more of.... YOU KNOW WHAT.

They are a bit sloppy on some of that stuff.. like, what goes there when the shapeshifter pods get here? Blobs of stuff? Trashcans? Giant pumpkins?
Only local humans would die from the waves, not outlander humans from over there. Why was not explained (and wouldn't make sense anyway).-- But no, the other guy didn't die just because of where he is from, not that he is special per se. Science was generally abysmal on this episode.
OP is truly dead, which is a relief. I don't like things getting all diluted with lots of alters--like you liking Newton staying Newton. I hate too much dinking around with extra characters.
I like how Astrid is syncing up with Walter. She will have her hands full trying to take care of him with Peter gone. I'm wondering if he will go off his meds while Peter is away; he won't be capable of monitoring his own state successfully and I am sure Peter has been doing that task. Walter will fall apart fast for many reasons with Peter gone.
I think Olivia will tell Peter she hadn't told him the truth because she couldn't chance losing him---just after he rescues Walter from Sumner and OtherWalter (
Spoiler:
remember, ourWalter gets shot in the finale---does otherWalter shoot him?
)
I agree, we don't know yet why Peter is special (except to Walter and Olivia, but that's the heart, not the Observer stuff). ? Maybe the Observer will clue him in on how it all originally happened? Or Bell!

I can't decide!
The episode message is getting mixed up with the episode rating for me. I'm sad for Walter and Peter, but at least the truth is out.
Yes, the teenager checking out the abandoned warehouse at night???? Like one of those horror movies where you yell at the screen, "Don't go in there, you fool!"
I liked the embryo shapeshifter, but did anybody else see why he failed to materialize? And Walter cutting into it right off the bat, what was he thinking?
Olivia was very subdued. She stayed in the background, not our usual Go Get 'Em Agent Dunham.
Peter on the bridge working with the harmonics, "I can fix that." Whoa, I guess we're seeing some of that MIT come out.
I need to think more about the Fringe Science, there was a LOT thrown at the audience.
"Mr. Secretary", the arm looked like it could also be an older man.........Walternate?
I'm feeling woozy from a flu bug, so my usual enthusiasm is off. I really liked the show, I just need to see it again tomorrow from the couch.

Nice entries, Elliot and Lezario!
*snork* ?
The Fringe science flew right over my head, it was almost like a season finale in itself.
The previews for next week made me chuckle. Some comic relief after so much bad news......Gene in giant polka dots. Love the 40's fashion, and they're going to go "Glee" on me, Man.
I gave it a 9, too, there's plenty for me to absorb, *hoping I dream about it*.

Once it all soaks in, I'll probably agree.
Lots to think about. I guess I spent most of the episode dreading the conclusion. Like the finale last season.
Where could he have gone?

Somewhere he could think about all of this.
Olivia says that he's not at the lab, not answering his phone.... have you check your apartment, Liv ?!
