"Die" doesn't mean he has so stay dead.

Olivia was brain dead in the season premiere, so....
He could die and someone would bring him back.

Like in Brown Betty with the heart, maybe.

About the meaning of yellow, i have just read that the descendants of Atlantis covered their buildings with a yellow metal enormously precious for the ancient Greeks.
We saw a lot of yellow, especially in "over there" (the coffee-pot and the coffee cups in the scene with Peter and alt-elizabeth, the panel in walternate's office, the drink in the scene with Peter and Walternate)...

Oh, yes, I know the name... wait... orichalque ? Something like that.

edit : Orichalcum in english. (ὀρείχαλκος)

I remember a lot of author used that metal in their book.
Also in video games, like Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantis, Kingdom Hearts, Age of Mythology.... and even the latest, Aion, I think.

Yes, it's orichalque smile
The yellow thing could be connected to "gold", which has very established symbollic meaning, of spiritual purity/evolution, and also a connection to alchemy (transmutation to perfection). Aztecs and many ancient people were obsessed with it. Note also halos in religious pictures are gold.. (and gold auras have very similar meaning to that).

Some more gold symbollism:

wealth, god, winning, safety, masculine power, happiness, playful humour, prestige, wisdom, love of spirit, meaning, purpose, awe, spiritual love, quests of the heart, desire for power, mystic powers, the sun, higher mathematics, sciences, attainment, power, concentration - also golden mean(phi, golden spiral)

Gold as a symbol fits probably much better that yellow for cortixi mind powers!
If yellow we saw in "cortexi-world" is actually gold and it comes from lost cities like Atlantis...if it has to do with first people/observers....if Peter is "the chosen one", the unique descendant of this ancient and powerful civilization thanks to his DNA.....then we could say that Peter is really the source of the drug!

A description of Atlantis gives the order from the less precious to the more precious.
(Exterior covered with bronze, interior with tin, acropole covered with orichalcum, and temple with gold.

Metals are also link to the planets, and to humans organs.
Gold > Sun > Heart
Silver > moon > Brain
Mercury > Mercury > Lungs

Oh god.....Look at what this user wrote about the meaning of gold, peter's glimmer and Observer's writing!

Its alchemical (turning lead into gold) writing (also related to zodiac symbollism), and there are definately characters in the observer writing which come from here (but may also connect to the zodiac - as their are twelve observers...)

There was an easter egg in episode ten connected to alchemy (its at the start of the fringeling thread mentioned above)

Okay, and just for some gratitous fun with the gold colour idea:

Also what about the "glimmer", on peter? Maybe its not just cause hes from the alt world? Or that maybe related too....Also the clue from over there part two "bask in the warm glow of scotch whisky"...

Hmmm...Yellow is about fear and attraction, doesnt fit (maybe slightly). Gold fits like a glove....

I read that the origins of almast all the ancient civilizations had to do with Atlantis, included Peruvians. After all these possible "illuminating" connections between Fringe and Atlantis's story, i could understand the meaning of what Nina told Peter in the episode "The Cure", before they came to an agreement.

Nina: "Now I have all kinds of information, Peter, and some of it does me no good. Well, take the Aymara people, for instance, of Central Peru. I know that the soil beneath their land houses a naturally occurring metal alloy that is potentially hyper-conductive. I also know that you have managed to successfully conduct business with these and other tribal concerns, in parts of the world traditionally resistant to development"

In my opinion, Nina knows who really peter is.

OK, Jade, you do know Atlantis is purely a myth, right?

Some people have interesting theories about Atlantis. They found a town, nearby Atlantis location (as described by Plato), that could be Atlantis.

This town was partly built underneath the ground, and had many pools, thermal bath.
With the mosaic on the walls, representing dolphins, sea life.... and an awful tsunami would have destroyed it.
It's possible people may have "embiggened"(word by Jebediah Sprinfield) the facts.

OK, good. grins I dealt with some seriously ....interesting people this morning, and was wondering there for a minute if crazy was in the air, all round the world.

Lez: embiggened is a kind word for it. It's great fun for fiction, though.

Did you notice any resemblances? The second pic is from "Iron Man".

I found some interesting point about the plot. For example:

- The protagonist enroled at MIT (Peter?)

- He has been captured by the lord of the war (Walternate? )

- After an accident, someone installs him an electromagnet to the center of the chest to prevent the splinters to reach his heart (iron doors that protect Peter's artificial heart in "brown betty")

- He realizes a "reactor Arc" miniaturized, a powerful electric generator, with which to feed the electromagnet (in Fringe Peter's DNA gives life to the power source)

- His arm is an iron machine that gives him energy (that arm looks like the "infernal machine" but Peter gives it energy)

Look...Isn't he Iron Man?

.....and where's Peter's reflection? grins

I agree it looks a lot like Iron Man.
That scene when he actually becomes Iron Man.
Great scene. Even if the rest of the movie..... it's good, but could have been betteR.

But on the comics, no, that's not Iron Man.
Looks more like Red Tornado to me.

He's part of the Justice League.

Iron Man was never in it.

I don't think so.

It's not Red Tornado, it's Mister Miracle.
I always confused those two guys (also with a third, ... Firestorm, I think).

Character design have changed a lot throughout the years.
