| Was that blood going into him when he woke up? I know the color wasn't quite right, but, then, that's a hallmark between the two universes. |

| I don't think Peter needs Cortexiphan to wake up. We've seen what triggered Olivia. *wink wink*
Peter is shirtless on the bed, but also on the drawing. |

| But what about the rays/flames/whatever is coming out of his eyes? Does that little black box wake him up? |

Indeed! And that little round thing near the flebo? |

| We just grow vines up them--and the huge ones for power or cell phones, try to ignore.
Cortexiphan, I think so. It's a huge maguffin, why wouldn't they use it?
(Peter himself being THE Maguffin, I know.)
Cathy, I'm beginning to think the "rule" that only one may survive might be false, as the ZFT over there is fiction, and as I've said since last year, ours might be at least part fiction too, or written with an agenda. Maybe both can survive, they need to work together to figure out how? Would be more interesting I think to have two warring sides have to figure out how to work together for a common good.
Walter himself last night said something to that effect--the kids were treated, trained to save both universes. ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

| And their abilities went wrong after they crossed....... James and Sarah (???) died because of this, Nick would have, too, and Olivia, while waiting for the bus, didn't seem so well. She's the only one staying, but I have the feeling that, even if she's the strongest, she might fall next week. |

| It would be Great if both universes could find a scientific solution, A Happy Ending. That could be a series finale.......
Maguffin?
Their powers, or Control of their powers started failing. Oooooo, that would upend me, how would Olivia's powers turn on her? *shudder* |

| The little round thing is a joint, it holds something at whatever angle.
Seriously, I think knowledge will wake him up. When he finally really knows, he will remember what he is capable of. Since Walter knows, he must have seen, so Peter must have been in at least partial control of whatever it was once before when he was small.
Poor guy, he will be told he is important and can save the world (the way Olivia was told) and then find out that they intend to kill him and another world in the process. Massive ego trip and then massive devastation.
Please, BR, Peter and Olivia need a big road trip and lots of alone time together to process this out... ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

| Maguffin!
You movie fiend and you don't remember that? It's a Hitchcock thing. In all of his movies, there is this Important Something, the whole story is built around, that is secret or being searched for, or fought over. Ask IMDB about it, the concept got into detective/thriller movies from him.
In Charade (which isn't Hitchcock but is called the best Hitchcock movie he never made) it starts being the stamp collection you think, but really it is Peter Joshua himself. . .yet another reason they reference it in Fringe I think. ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

Knowledge, yes, like he figured out by himself that he was from over there. But, ahem, knowledge, and AHEM. You know. |

| Some Alias fans had used "macguffin" to dscribe Rambaldi's device in the show. |

| Yes! That would be a good use of the word. It's the thing that makes the story work. ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

| Actually, I didn't know what it was, and at that time i was mostly a lurker on Alias forums...... Later when we studied Hitchcock in junior high, french teacher explained us what it meant. |

| One of my friends in college was on the board that chose films for the film society, and so I got to help her choose, as we were both fiends. She taught me about maguffins and Lena Wertmuller and Francis Ford Coppola... *waves in the general direction of Macoll, wherever you are, I know you're a fringie too* ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

| Oh! And the 'Peter and Walter' theme was playing when Walter was crying and praying, unloading Peter's bag. ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

| I noticed on the map of the US in Walternate's office that part of California is missing, does someone have a screencap of that? Maybe there are other changes... ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

| Really, 'cause I was all engrossed in the area of New Mexico that had a cluster of Fringe events. Along with the Pacific coast, parts of New Mexico are on my list of Great Tour Someday destinations, and they're relatively close to where I live anyway. |

| Oh, I can't wait to see all these caps, they're blank for me at work, but, gee, 2:30 in my part of the world and we've already gone through 6 pages on the episode, excellent. I'm not really a movie Expert, but Mr. Cathy is. I'll check with him, I bet he knows maguffin. The man had 1000 movies in our apartment at one time, thank goodness I persuaded him to condense them into 4/page binders. They look more, well, normal . |

| Oh, I found the promo pix... I'll post a somewhat enhanced version, you can see the state boundaries better a bit.
That pic Lez isn't very high resolution...
Maybe someone with a better screen can do a higher res pic? Looks like a lot of Cali has sluffed, and North and South Dakota have merged... I can't read the state names but on another list someone has.. ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |
