"Smarmy" means ---hm, slimy and icky, with overtones of perverted.

"Fungible" means exactly interchangeable, as a grain of wheat, or a traincar of wheat is interchangeable with another grain of wheat, or another traincar of wheat. I think, but will have to check, that fungible is a contraction of 'functionally interchangeable'.

I'm going to keep my faith in Sam Weiss. I think he's supposed to be the Quiet Voice of Reason, at least that's how I see him.

I'd settled myself that he is some kind of spirit guide (though why she needs one is beyond me, I was afraid it was to appease those demanding religion in Fringe) (a certain teenage girl you and I both know comes to mind in that category *wink*).

So, I'd rather have him be nefarious than that!

But most of all, I want no harm to come to Olivia, or the rest of Our Team, because of him.

I also don't know if I like the easter eggs to be that bald (unintentionaly joke but I'm leaving it). They may as well just have Pinkner step in and hold up a rubber chicken in front of the camera. I like my arcana --well, arcane.

Yes, someone posted the anagram on Walter's chalk board somewhere on the net.

And not to mention that the Glyphs spelled "WEISS" !!!

Smarmy, Luna, could be translated as --- dégoûtant, servile, insidieux, et même, ça dépend du contexte, faux-cul, perfide, sournois......
Enfin c'est fort comme mot, dirons nous.

It is everyone's DNA sequence.
What changes is the order they are.

but yes, I believe Walter meant "steal Peter".

Some interesting things.... I've said it before, I think, but the Glyphs spelled WEISS.
To go with the anagram, I guess.

But which Sam ?

I'll upload more when it will go faster.

Ok, there's something I wanted to say since I saw both parts of the finale :

With my very almost inexistant knowledge of USA buildings/culture/way of life/history/geography..... I haven't catch a lot of difference between two worlds.

"Who the Hell is Jackson ?" Well, indeed, who the Hell is Jackson ?
And this is not only this question that I wanted to ask, everything Peter sees from the helicopter seemed normal to me (except the trapping-people-amber thing of course), the names, the stores, the streets, the history...

Being an European, I didn't catch all these things people seemed to have caught in those two episodes...................
Except the comics books, because i'm a fan, the Twin Towers because they're unfornately famous, the McDo and the KFC because there are so many here.
The technology and the clothes.

But it feels like i'm missing a lot just because i don't know how it is normally.
And this is frustrating.

It's a two-fer. One, Andrew Jackson was an early President of the United States (1830's, I think?) who had fought horrible battles against the First Peoples here--- the Native (ok, sort of, you know what I mean), and presided over the removal of many from their lands; he is on the $20. He was a slave-holder, yet worked for rights for common people (of his color).

and two, no Peter OverThere, no Josh Jackson...

It's been a long time since I've been to NYC, but as I recall or find things (I'm poring over the caps when I get the chances) I will post them. I'm uploading to p-bucket as fast as my connection allows..

yeah, I feel the same...
you know, when I saw this landscape from Peter's apartment, I knew there was something that had bothered me but I couldn't tell what... until you post (Elliot) this picture... and argh, it's annoying...
as you said, Lez, there are a lot of things we miss because of our lack of knowledge about the USA, habits, attitudes and even subtleties in language...

BTW, I didn't understand what Bell said to Peter in front of the opera house... and what Peter answered...

Lunastelle, I feel a little bit that way about the scenes of New York (the ones really filmed there, even!) as it has been very long since I was there.

The "fact" of Jackson not having been President Over There explains some of the weirdness of the map in BadWalter's office--that's why Oklahoma is not separate from the state above it (it was created to remove the local natives off the land for whites).

And the First Peoples being in the pseudo science titles for RedFringe, I take that to mean either they were not successful in their migrations and left little trace, or they were so savagely wiped out by european conquest as to have left little trace.

That doesn't explain why Neuroscience is listed there, with their advanced tech I don't see how that can be fringey.

In the decor of Peter's apartment BadWalter made for him (and let's stop and think for a moment how much planning that would have taken, and how long it was in the works) there are lots of interesting things.

One is that he knows or remembers Peter plays piano, there is a nice baby grand. Another is more likely he knows about him (and I want to know how!!!): at least two sets of stemware for drinking alcohol.

There is a framed fragment of a map on the wall, the number looks to me like 3, or maybe 2:

The piano & vitrine

and then------for something for you to chew on while I go to work, here is the thing on the wall over NotOlivia's mantel. I've cleaned up contrast and sharpened it a bit, but if there's a higher-res shot out there, that would probably help. I see what may be a ladder (the ladder of transmigration again?), and yellow arrows in diverging directions, and so much other stuff that is hard to make out...including perhaps an apple? The butterflies are in the Windows operating screen in the hospital shot, they might be here too?

I was making caps of Theirlivia's apartment, and yes, this reminds me of some artists we've studied this year, and yet, with some differences.. I'll try to remember his name, but it was after war artists.

There are women, looking like dolls, too.
