| *shouting from the back gallery* I wanna do a Top Ten! And #1 is always a tough choice. I've gone back and forth with my top 4 or so episodes. 1. The Bishop Revival. There was a fun feel to the whole show, and a surprising twist with Walter. I know Walter's violent streak is dormant, but it's still there, because of what he does when his son is threatened. The Fringe science didn't seem farfetched at all, and the way they applied it was very entertaining. 2. White Tulip. Amazing appearance by Peter Weller, inserting metal wires and plates into himself like a real life tin man. The time travel dilemna and it's resolution was poignant. 3. Northwest Passage. I know the last half of the episodes have an advantage over the first half. It was easy to identify with the Sherrif, I never figured out a key moment in the show, but that's okay, the Pacific Northwest was eerie enough as it is. 4. Over There, Part Two. Akiva Goldman. We need him to do more shows. It certainly could be me, but the actors seemed more motivated. Maybe they finally got some answers on the mystery of their characters. Loved Walter (John Noble, John Noble, you can sell me anything! ), loved Alt-Olivia-what do we call her, Olivianate? And, for my Benchie sisters, we have the honest to goodness, not fantasy kiss. This should probably be higher on the list, it was a Very nice season finale. 5, Momentum Deferred. Before the last 3-4 episodes when everything got stirred up, Momentum Deferred was probably my favorite. Olivia does that killer flying through the windshield, enigmatic William Bell is alternately paternal and coldblooded. The odd woman who did experiments as a child (I wonder why they didn't use her to go across? Just as well, she's still alive) was a fine character role. 6. Edina City Limits. I liked "X-Files", but it didn't captivate me like some other fans, I followed it the first year and drifted away. But the feel was unique. And I love when they do this foggy, forest background. I'm looking forward to more Pacific Northwest shows. Maybe they could drop some of the pretense and move their headquarters to Vancouver? Just a thought..... 7. A New Day in the Old Town. The anticipation was fever pitched. This is one of those moments when I'm thrilled I don't know what's going to happen next. She was damaged from the trip, but, thanks to Nina, she began therapy with Sam Weiss. I love that character! 8. Peter. The fangirls and fanboys made this one exciting, waiting to see what they'd do. And, with sepia tones and funky makeup, John Noble carried this episode and it's fantastic tale. Having him save "Our" Peter from the avian flu made him more, well, noble than just an outright kidnapping because you lost your baby. Mom was something else, too. That last little look as she looked at Walter while hugging Peter was great. The last two, I'm just going over favorite "WTF" moments, 9. Fracture. That darn toast, Olivia drinking in a bar in Iraq, with Peter. Lots of fun over that. 10. Brown Betty. 'Cause I was emotionally exhausted with Peter and Olivia by that moment, and it was fun to have some comic relief. Not to mention the costumes were cool. So, Lez asked what my favorite show was, and I gave a top ten. Now, if I can just apply that energy to cleaning up the living room........ That is awesome, 8 opinions so far and the favorite episode is 8 different shows. |

| My faves: Over There II, Brown Betty, Northwest Passage, Night of Desirable Objects, Edina/Johari, Momentum Deferred, Fracture, Peter, Snakehead.
Because of P/O, incredible storytelling, amazing acting, gorgeous filming, funny and sad and outrageous bits, the scenery, and the growth and revelations of the characters. I was an X-Files fan, and have loved the homages to that show they have done. And being a NW forest person, I don't find the forest creepy, or maybe I like the creepiness and find it comforting? You decide.
While I love the mysterious monsters and diseases and things-from-massive-dynamic that go bump in the night, all of which emanate from Walter's head, I don't know quite how they will continue on those (which is a pity, we need those breaks from full-tilt emotion and full-tilt explication).
Right now I am longing for some simple episodes with Peter and Walter geeking out in the lab, comfortable again, and Peter's sly, snide comments referring to his own ultimate weirdness in front of unsuspecting FBI, police and others.... and to warm, cheery car discussions between Peter and Olivia, bantering and teasing as they solve new wierdnesses together. They will need some of that in between fixing the flat tires on the universe and driving out the invaders. ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

| It was! When do you want to do a re-watch? We could do a dry-run, rough version soon, so as not to have to wait for the dvd's to come, and then a full-fledged, everybody watch, one later when they do. ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |

| I'm open to ideas. I haven't checked to see what's still available on Hulu.......*steps away for a moment*.....Hulu is offering the last 5 episodes, and they also have the pilot available. Boy, does that seem like a long time ago! Fox is keeping the last five episodes up through the summer. There are a bunch of IMDB clips. Can IMDB be accessed outside the US? I've read Hulu is inside the US only :( |

| I think it can be, but i don't know. I have some accounts in Canada, since I'm so close, but my isp knows the difference.
I can tell you, that the streaming link of FOX live new york early feed, I can access via an out of country link, the country to be named later... *wink*. So that might work for others, making a daisy-chain of finding episodes online for viewing.
Me/dialup/can't bother with it (until I do a bit of hunting for free wi, later on in the summer, or get wireless here at the house.) ________________________________ "A strong morality tale in between "Aahhhhhh, HELP!" moments." |
