- LOVED it.
I spotted the Observer, behind a police car, and the two Simpsons Scavenger hunt Clues :
I love Olivia's "He helps me too." GAH.
Love the meeting between Walter and Nina, and Walter explaining that it was Bell who introduced him to Peter's mom !
Elliot, I don't think they cut this moment. I think "Peter disarming the guy" moment is in another episode. We had seen it in the "November episodes promo", not in the 2x07 promo. Which means we'll certainly see it later !
Little glances btw P/O were nice.
At the end, Peter seemed -- for a second -- wondering if Walter had told any lie about his mother.
The Penrose-Carson thing ?! YAY !!! I've been waiting to see the clones lying next to each other again for a long time ! And the file with the pictures of different Tylers... "Tyler01", "Tyler02"....
//*Do you really think Tyler's mom left because of the drugs ? I was thinking, what if it was like that theory we have on Walter's mom : she would have left when she learned what he was doing to their child ? That he had cloned their child ? //* this doesn't mean Peter's a clone.
Great episode, and a nice parallel with Peter's story.
Elliot, did you notice the painting on the Bishop's house wall at the very end ? The one promo I saved with that clip in it made it look like it was part of this episode... as I explained (somewhere! here). I don't think Tyler's mom was a druggie, they'd have screened the surrogates very closely. I think she left because her contract was up. Dr. Carson was lying all along, and still. He gave the drugs to Tyler (without Tyler knowing) as part of the experiment. Tyler's outsized rage (that is, outsized aggression, psychopathy), makes me wonder along with that reviewer if it wasn't part of breeding/creating super soldiers. I noticed the painting but couldn't tell what it was of---and with this one, can't see much detail of the trains, not enough to tell that all three are different. It does look rather Maxfield Parrish, that I can tell.. I did like the bit there at the end about Peter's mother.... I wasn't sure if he was meant to be wondering about lies, but it is time he wakes up, the parallels were too strong for a genius not to recognize. The bit about not being good enough for one's father hit home with me....argh. And I will have to borrow Cathy's shield and say, "he helps me too" was rather cold P/O for me....there was more hinted at in the car salesman saying "that friend you keep going on about, you'd better pray he's not with Tyler".... so Olivia was worried.... I also like Peter's and Broyles' scene after he shot Broyles. Oh------------and one picky detail. What the teddy bear gave off was not white noise. It was a heartbeat generator, not the same as white noise. And that's a mistake their sound crew must've really been cringing over. It was a cool effect, to film without dialog or music over the scene, just the heartbeat, though.

| "Cathy's shield" ?! Okay! Yu know, Although I give most shows at least an 8, I rarely give higher than a 5 on the P/O scale, sorry! And I'm a Benchwarmer! Give me another tank yank scene! Oh well, we'll see what happens next week with Observer revelations. So September isn't the only Observer to step outside his job description, hmmmm. I liked the film effect of just using the heartbeat, which, yes, I think is different from actual white noise. I use a box fan for white noise while sleeping, but I wonder if I could sleep better with a heartbeat like that? *rubs chin, pondering* Nice film sound, though. | |

| I like waves, or water sounds......the heartbeat sound is too demanding for me. They need to make one with purring! | |

I especially loved this special sound effect. I think Joe Chapelle has many great ideas about the film direction. And the Olivia's point of view was a good idea I think. Of course, it's a big white noise, and the beating is really strong, but I think it's deliberate. For this action scene, the heart beating increase our tension. It's just like the adrenaline, you know. A subliminal effect I loved this episode, for the qualities of the script, but also for the ideas about the direction. I love when the spectator is manipulated, when I'm surprised

Well, it was a comment in general... About this episode, it's maybe silly, but I admit, I didn't see that the kid was the manipulator actually and the end... with the explanation about the kid (and the different pseudo-fathers) It was written well, I think

| what i couldn't buy was that the kid was given back to MAssive Dynamic: he killed several people for god's sake!! not that it wold have been easy to prove he did it though but nonetheless.... he was a psychopath. | |

| It was a good episodes, full of Peter ( ) but less of P/O than I hoped . I'd liked seen Olivia more worried. I like the end, full of perspectives for the future war. Is Tyler the prototype for the soldiers mentionned in ZFT manifesto? | |

The clouds are very "school of Maxfield Parrish and Arthur Rackham" ---if you've read The Knave of Hearts, or seen The Land of Make Believe, or The Empire of Light...Fascination with clouds and steam and sky effects. The sort of feel that execrable guy who's so popular in the states these days who styles himself the painter of light can only dream of.

| That's the same basic thing---Rackham and Parrish are time-compatriots of the French Art Deco folks. | |

| Everytime I see these trains, it reminds me of Hercule Poirot's theme in the 90's series. | |
