| Shades of "The Same Old Story", Ep. 2. Hey, the "Lion's Den" song from "Unleashed". | |

| Finally, we got to see Olivia run straight to Peter and ask if he's all right. Now, if only we had gotten that after his car accident... | |

| I have the feeling we may have to get used to tear-filled eyes in an episode or three.
The metal bird. Remember the bird image in the Observer writings? Wonder if that's going to represent a positive repitition.
Oh. That small improvement is so sad. I wonder in the future if the favor will be returned, so to speak? Do you think Peter will take off? He'll still be in the episode, but not where they're at? Oh please oh please oh please let next week be closer to The Reveal. I know, probably not, but I can still dream.

| Well! That was fun. Pretty high on the ick factor! I was sorry to see Walter backslide, but it really gives me some hope for the future. Maybe Walter Won't just fall all to pieces when he has to deal with a Peter who may or may not fall to pieces of a sort after over finding out he's not where the thought he was from. Okay, now I'm looking at the firs scene. Strong little bugger! Biting Walter was cool! And what an interesting defense mechanism, euphoria. | |

| If the episodes are like tonight's, I won't mind if there are points where I'll tear up. Walter was just so sweet. | |

| Nimoy's next week, and supposedly for the last time. I have hope they may still do it next week. *head on table* I just need to move past this upcoming confrontation! John Noble really adds so much to the show.

| I'm gonna step away from the keyboard for a bit, but I'm going check back in, if that's okay? You've been great to chat with, and it cracked me up how often we filed at the same time! We did almost 4 pages. I'll also be interested if the parasites have a longer lasting effect on Walter. It has quite a chomp, though. | |

| I enjoyed chatting with you, too. My remaining homework beckons, but I'll probably be back later on, too. | |

| If Elliot sees it 8pm Pacific she should be through in 20 minutes or so? . On the bright side, it's 5:30am in France, and Lez, Stephy and Xeen could be up watching it now!

| Fringe's on at 9:00 Pacific, and I loved it so much I re-watched it. (It's on at 8 for you folks? It seems more adult than 8pm...?) Finally! Finally! Peter being an equal partner to her, having skills she doesn't have (and respects)--really contributing. (And flirting just a trace: "Get to know me better"--with that bit of lilt, and the crooked look on his face...) His knowledge of the Triad stuff even impressed Broyles! And I love seeing the child parenting the parent... having gone through a lot of that in the past two years it was heartbreaking, but beautifully done.
And Peter charging on in alone, not content to wait for backup... awesome! Plus, bonus alter-world stuff, he chewed the worm and it didn't kill him.... it's his origins, right? And how much do you bet the John Soo alias traces back to mmmMassive Dynamic somehow? Some guy on a freighter, or some guy in an herbalist shop, doesn't have the lab or the training to engineer a creature like that.
So, since this episode had almost everything I ever want in a Fringe episode (and I know I have to wait for the other thing a while longer)----------A+. This was a 10 for me. Crying for Walter--a bit for Peter's hurt feelings--fears for Astrid--cheers all through for Peter--loving that little lady who took care of Walter...Broyles getting to take part in a raid.... Peter being a badass on the side of the law...--killing the parasite himself and not being infected---Olivia worrying about him...very satisfying.
Oh, and as the child who has been parenting the parent.... what Peter was going to say, before he found out about the locator chip, was this: "you know I would find you. Wherever you got lost to, I would find you."

| oh my... i found it contrived and badly written yes Peter is indeed saving the day, but the plot is so and so and the badies ridiculous - Spoiler:
(why wouldn't they kill Astrid for example?)
and for Pete's sake - Spoiler:
give Walter a darn prepaid phone!!

| It's on at 9 for me, Elliot.
As for Walter getting a prepaid phone, I don't think he'd know how to use it.

| I don't know. My grandmother's never had a problem with pay phones, but when we got her a cell phone she couldn't figure it out. She still doesn't know how to use it very well, and she's had it for years. | |

As for Walter getting a prepaid phone, I don't think he'd know how to use it. I completely agree. My mother was not insane, but had suffered a few strokes that affected her memory, and while she had known before how to use a prepaid phone, in her last year she wasn't able to--could not remember how they worked, kept asking me to write down phone numbers for her over and over again.... no, that was very plausible. Along with the anguish to still be independent. Why kill Astrid when a couple of blows to the head and she's out for half an hour? Little her vs those two guys? She didn't know anything about them to make them worry, she was just between them and the worm.

| It was frustrating to see Walter so sharp at the beginning, even if he was a little paranoid about Peter or Astrid following him. He didn't seem to realize at that moment sometimes he DOES need supervision, as he found out when he got lost in Chinatown. That was a very sweet lady who took him in. And Peter spoke what sounded like very good Cantonese. I felt bad for Walter when Peter pointed out that Walter had his list of phone contacts inside his pocket. I'm glad he put a tracker chip in his neck. I'm wondering if that chip will come into play somewhere down the road..... I gave "Snakehead" a "9". I loved the monster/worm, and the scene where it chomped into Walter was something, the worm looked like he was guzzling blood! Ewww! I have high hopes for "Grey Matters", it's going to have to hold me for a while. I don't expect it to be like "Safe", but I hope it ends on a dramatic note! | |

| Yes, it was a very good monster! That scene of it feeding on Walter was excellent.
And I have to say again, how much John and Josh are doing with that relationship.. my Mom had some personality changes from her strokes, and sometimes she would be sweet, and sometimes so very sharp-tongued, I never knew what would be... very hard to deal with. If anything, Peter is being more restrained than a mere mortal would be in such circumstances... it hurts to be yelled at when you are taking care of someone who needs care and doesn't (can't!) realize it. The portrayal of Walter is amazingly spot-on for someone who has had--they hint at-- electroshock therapy, for starters.
And Josh's Canonese seemed pretty effortless and fluid, if it was that good it wouldn't be a surprise to find they have good dialogue coaches there with the great Asian community in Vancouver. I loved how Broyles sidled up to Peter when he was explaining the tatts....and how deadpan Peter was in adding in the bits about long walks on the beach! Nice to see the cheeky genius at work.
Cathy, I await further revelations on what all Peter carries in that coat...and what all else he is capable of!
