The first group is definitely "Unearthed" (the lost episode airing 1/11) and the second is "Edina City Limits" (airing 1/14). As to what episode number they are (and therefore what thread they go in), that's still up in the air.

Was that a reference to an off-set thing more than a storyline thing ?

Diane's appearing as a character this year? Oh, how awesome!

I've never been a fan of the nepotism thing...I know it is fun for the stars to have their SO's there, and a nice cut of the budget pie dollars, but it often ends up distorting the storyline...I think that's what happened in Alias, for example; they killed off (well, destroyed and de-scened) Will so Garner could spend more time onscreen with her boyfriend.

Interestingly, though, you see more of Bradley Cooper nowdays than Michal Vartan (sp)...

Honestly? I would be seriously shocked if it was anything more than a simple cameo. A slightly larger blink-or-you'll-miss-her role. I think it was only the one day shoot, otherwise why would Jasika show up for a non-filming day for her just to say hi?

I hope you are right, Blue Sunflower! They said on ---mandy's site, I think? it was "several episodes" I heard. I hope it is just a blink or miss, I hate it when the storyline gets run off the rails by the personal lives of the actors. Feels like their egos are getting in the way.

Diane's got too much going on right now, there's no way she'd sign up for a multi-episode arc. It's award season. She's already back in LA for the People's Choice Awards (sans Josh too). All the other sites have said it was just the one-shot, and the one scene. I mean, c'mon! She bubbles up!!! She's GOT to explode!!!!

Also - small note, Diane *has* said she wanted to play a monster-type character on the show. So I'm betting this is pretty much nothing more than an easter egg appearance.

Full disclosure though: to be fair, I wouldn't mind her on the show. Not only would I think she'd do well, but it would be a fairly large publicity boost for the show when it returns off hiatus (for ratings), particularly if Diane or "Inglorious Basterds" ends up winning an Oscar. They are expected to at least be nominated.

I hope it is just the monster of the week thing; I've seen too many shows I liked get bogged down in appeasing stars and their spouses..you think, gee, this has gotten flat or drab or extra stupid...then you find that the new love interest or whatever is the girlfriend or boyfriend or boytoy, and because they are way too important to take direction, scenes get changed to make them heroic... etc. Not saying Diane would behave that way, just leery of dragging personal life into work like that.

Plus, P/O is the storyline for me. Accept No Substitutes!

I don't mind she make a guest-starring, she's an actress I love very much but except the good boost to the audience she would make i think we don't really need her on the show.

Well, a little role, why not ? She's an actress, after all.

*crossing fingers* She'll give the show a boost for ratings, folks who haven't seen her in "Inglorious Bastards" should remember her from the two "National Treasure" movies.

She was Really Good in "Inglorious Bastards". She did a scene with Brad Pitt that was entertaining, and a scene with Christoph Waltz that was scary.

Edit: Well, I guess I should check before I spout opinions. JoshJackson.net said it will be for more than one episode. Oh Well. As long as the story is good......

Right. P/O, not random romances which are intended to substitute (or even to piss off benchies)... random sex is not romance, and even if the couple pictured are married IRL, (those two are engaged, no?), it messes up the story line with childish triangle stuff.

I would be seriously disappointed, IF that's what they have up their sleeve. One of the wonderful things about Fringe has been its utter lack of love-triangle BS, lack of bedroom scenes for the sake of showing the stars in bed with someone, anyone, to get ratings.

Shirtless Peter with a gun, like other shirtless scenes which don't depict sexual situations, fine (or even later one when we get P/O romance); shirtless Peter with a gun as a way to show him having a sexual relationship with a random woman =porn; as a way to attract viewers to his fiancee's movie=weird, or as a way to show Peter having romance but not with someone other than Josh's SO=creepy and controlling, or creepy and egomaniacal. Do Josh and Diane need that much external verification?

Still, wait and see. But if they drag Diane in as a substitute for P/O, I have other things I can do with my time.
