Even if there's an alterWalter, he's not the same thing as Walter. That's got to matter. Same as, Charlie was a good guy, will alterCharlie be? We don't know yet. And Peter1 was a little boy, who knows what he would have grown up to be, we like the one we have, but---they are/were not exactly the same.

So just being alterWalter doesn't mean Walter is not necessary.

Which begs the question, did a raft of them come through like cockroaches when Walter was holding the door open looking for Peter, and now they're stuck here? Is Olivia the only one crossing easily (so far as they know; I believe they've hinted Peter can cross at will also, just doesn't know it yet)?

me too.... that would be a pity to miss the opportunity to have our walter meet his other self

... haven't they already hinted at that going to happen, in interviews I mean? It would be an obvious opportunity for Noble to really show his chops.

Remember this Charmed episode when Gedeon was hiding a mirror, a sort of door to another universe -an exact opposite universe- in his office ?
The characters met their alterselves, their exact opposite.
Playing two different personalities in the same episode, yay !

That was fun to see Bardas as a demon of hope. I loved this actor.

It was my guess that Nimoy was demanding more of the storyline be focused on him than they wanted to give... something about the way he said he was waiting to see how they developed his character. I don't think they maybe felt like playing to his ego.

Just my thoughts.... I never liked him, ever since he went so far as to make a music/poetry album in the persona of Spock, then was rude in the press about being typecast. Wants his cake and eat it too, hasn't changed.

I thought Bell said there were already crossing places, it was just that humans couldn't cross there it was too dangerous. Only the shapeshifters could survive. Walter managed to create a crossing place where *humans* could survive too - or at least, him and Peter (and possibly Peter moreso).

Yeah the SS seem more durable... and FrozenHead seems to be stuck here---but he's a mechano-human hyb (mercuric blood) and SS is a tool they use, not a what they are... hm... Bell is stuck over there, the mercury gang is stuck here (or part of them?) the one that ended up as Charlie wasn't stuck, he was told to stay, right???

I'm sure we are. Interesting, btw. It reminds me Lost, with the others hieroglyphic signs...
They're inspired by the Egyptian civilization.

Djed also means stability !

I also hope they don't make much of that as Egyptian stuff at all, but rather a symbol appropriated by (frozen head gang) or whomever... as the whole Egyptian thing has been so completely overdone. I have really liked that Fringe has been making its OWN mythos, maybe alluding to other things but really making its own. It's more challenging, I think.

Alter mythology..... Something he brought back from over there when he tried to help Walter getting his "son" back ?
