| I thought it was the towers, or one of them, can't quite tell. But it seemed there for a reason. | |

I liked how he tried. He can be independant, he just needs to keep his tongue in his mouth sometimes ! After all, that was just the thing he said in the Chinese herbalist shop that caused what happened to Astrid. He did get in China Town on his own, taking the bus and all. I laughed so hard when scared Walter locked all the car doors after Peter left him alone. | |

| It's a sparkle day! I'll take my camera when I go ship a soap order, the mountains around town are glorious, you'd love to see them.
Say.... I took a closer look at the image on Matt's shirt, and it's a reference not to the towers but...... the coming storm, I think... it's a tsunami engulfing buildings:
What the hell? Photobucket took away all my tags? They've "improved" by making things stupid?
------------now I have to page through to find it. Later. | |

| Argh, they've improved it by making it slower and more cumbersome and less image oriented. I swear they must be being run by bookkeepers and not visual artists. They took the tag list away, and left the hole where it was, but make you go to a page with advertising (I guess---love my adblock!) to find them. /rant. Sorry. *ahem* | |

| I wonder if they are making it their number (like 42/ x files or 47/ lost) or if they intend it to mean something in re: the tsunami/coming storm/first wave)? | |

| I hope both; a reward for us following the clues. Speaking of which, do we have a separate black and white thread? Cause there was a lingering obvious b/w shot in the last episode.... they do mean something by that, I am sure. Cause if they were just doing b/w for ME, they would signify.... oh, this is for mad Elliot--somehow. I think. | |

| There's no B&W thread, but you can create it. | |

| I will then. I've read that they use b/w in Lost, and that the reviewer felt it referred to duality, which for Fringe would be so obvious a theme as to mean nothing much--- except, if the kid/mother thing were mirroring Peter's life... but I would think they would use mirrors for that, rather than b/w??? When I get the pics posted, we can have a more coherent discussion. | |

I don't know, I'll have to look when I'm not at a blocked computer. Usually not, though. They *do* run it through the page so you don't have to download it, but I like I said I can't check it right now. | |

| I'd appreciate it. Downloading or listening via the page........ it's the time factor for me. Sometimes I click on the link and go to town and come back.... players that don't have re-wind drive me crazy. | |

| Here's a fun review/recap of this episode, with a couple of snippets, but do go read the entire thing:
And then there was lots of staring: Fringe 2.09 - Snakehead
. . . Peter and Olivia swagger through the hospital exuding power couple badassness. It makes us want to be like them. Turns out Survival Girl is untainted by the giant worm infestation. Woo! Peter gets to show off his Chinese language skills. Olivia looks into his eyes, "I didn't know you spoke Cantonese!" Then to herself: Why the hell did we arrange for a translator then? Joshua Jackson smolders at her and the story continues.
. . . .
Power couple gaze at each other, realizing that this is going to be one of those episodes involving children, and that one of them will probably have to bond with a traumatized adolescent later on. "It better be you," Peter gripes during the commercial break, "I had my turn two episodes ago when I got mind-controlled by that angsty rich kid who almost made me shoot your boss." But Olivia is distracted by one of her constant urgent phone calls, though this one does not forward the plot. | |

| Just rewatched this last night, my dvd set finally getting some use. (No commentary on this one, sorry.) The mythheads didn't like this so well, but I loved it (and not only because of Josh Jackson's action hero role and general badassery).
I was struck by how much of it was calling out to the Walter/Peter/dying child theme. The woman desperate to save her child from the parasite, the woman desperate to save her son from the disease that was killing him... and not really caring what she had to do to save him. The doctor preparing the cure, and not really thinking about what it cost others.
Walter was being all cranky and individuating, sort of the way Peter is now in early season 3.
Peter and Olivia in such sync that they walk with the same rhythm down the hospital hallway, like boats on a wave.
There was red and green splashed ALL over the place, and in some places, red yellow and blue; loads of reflections (there aren't so many now, are there? whats up with that? Or am I missing them?)
The flowers in the globe at the upstairs of Ming Chi's palace of horrors are cherry blossoms, I could finally see them!!-- symbol of the briefness and beauty of life; fitting amongst all the dying and near death stuff.
I was also struck again by how excited Broyles was that Peter knew all that Chinese gang stuff.. and how when the triad member slit his throat, Olivia noticed it first, and was closer to the door, but Peter made it into the room first to try to stanch the blood, she hung in the doorway and gaped.
The evil doctor tells Peter he mustn't chew the worm or it will poison him--is that a lie to save the parasite's life? Or does peter have extra special saliva? Cause when he spits it out, it's crushed in pieces.
And Olivia nailed that evil doctor in the heart with one shot, to save Peter--when she needs to be a good shot, she is excellent.
And oh, my, I miss Olivia!! | |
