We don't see even a glimmer of Joshua Jackson when Fringe returns April 1, which of course begs the Q: Did producer Julie Plec burst through a high-tech "window" and steal him away to her alternate (Vampire Diaries) universe?! No, but that's what the whole April 1 episode of Fringe is about, and it rocks. Olivia (Anna Torv), furiously confronts Walter (John Noble), who recounts the heartbreaking events that led to his abduction of the other universe's Peter. Our heads still hurt from trying to process all the ramifications, but it seems everyone has doubles in the similar-different alternate universe, and by crossing over Walt did a very bad thing. In all fairness, if Walter hadn't abducted him, both Peters would be dead
Ah ha! As I suspected! "Didn't you ever take something that wasn't yours because you knew it was the right thing to do?" (The Arrival)

I knew it!! Walter abducted Peter 2 because he's "important", as September said!

If he's only Olivia's trigger, that's a waste of setup and acting and all that they have made him. He has to be important on his own, not just a tool she uses. If she only needs him as a trigger, it could have been an inanimate object, or a memory.
So, something he will do on his own is equally as important as what Olivia does, or it's just a waste of everybody's time, especially Josh Jackson's. Would definitely be a waste of my time.
Something he does, as an independent being, influences the timeline & probability enough to make him important to the Observers.
My guess is that something he does affects the interactions between the two universes.

Slightly different bit (one new character) in this promo:
and--from someone who has seen the episode, this--:
Quote :
The plot revolves around Walter’s obsession with finding a cure for his son Peter, who is sick with some mysterious illness. Walter uses a tool that allows him to see the alternative universe next to his. This tool acts like a TV: Set it up in a room, turn it on and presto, you can see what is happening in that room in the other universe.
Walter watches his doppelganger Walternate (get it?) search for the cure as well. Before Walter can find a cure, however, Peter passes away. While throwing back numerous drinks, he witnesses his alternate create a cure. But thanks to a strange bald man in a black suit who enters the room at this moment, drawing his attention away from the chemical reaction, he misses the cure. Walter on the other hand sees what happened and combines the chemicals in the real world. Bent on saving his son in any world, Walter decides he needs to cross over to the other universe to save his son.
His research assistant learns of his plans and warns him against traveling over to the other side, for reasons that anyone who has watched Back to the Future should find familiar. Casting aside his better judgment, he attempts to cross over into the other world.

The new promo is very cool! The frog must have something to do with Peter, hummm.... I'm very curious to find out more about this misterious illness that killed Peter1 and what kind of cure was invented for alter-Peter!

Have you folks seen the Fringe 101 site? FOX have made a sort of explore-it kit for new viewers to get up to speed so they can watch the rest of the season. It's horribly slow to load for dialup, of course (why FOX can't use the same kind of tech YT does for its players...... ack..)
It's a cool site, with bios and spoilers (not spoilery to us who have been with it from the start), nice to see this type of promotion (finally).

And those sneak peek things, i won't look for them anymore, as i'm not able to watch them. People are idiots. Why do you think they manage to sell tv shows in other countries ? Because people talk, people watch, and so foreign channels decide to buy these show.

Yes, they are all things we've seen, hulu-fied. Nothing new. In this case, the people who headlined it should have noted that, instead of making us think it was new footage----------see how riled up it gets us?
It does seem odd that the fringe facebook page, supposedly where new content would be every Thursday, seems to be behind everyone else, and also difficult for foreign viewers to access. There's even that stupid brain teaser video there that you can see but not access unless someone sends a friend request to you with it in it.
Dorks.
But there's an interview with John Noble at sci-fi wire that has some new stuff!
You certainly will see more of him," Noble says. "In the finale you'll see an awful lot of him. Again, it's a challenge. It's the same man, but with different choices made in life. And we often talk about that on Fringe, don't we? The parallel universe is like, the choices you make will help impact the rest of your life. So Walternate is in a different profession than Walter and a far different person, and he's physically different. He's a very powerful man, Walternate. I can't really say more than that, but he is different."
