| There is a great post up today at Fringelatino regarding the use of color in this episode, specifically red and green. I'd noticed the heightened red and green in it, but hadn't put together what he has on it; looks like a new way forward in investigating color use in Fringe, I'm very excited. I have a bit of a quibble on one thing, which I will comment on at the end. My Spanish reading and translating skills are terribly rusty, so I supplemented with teh google translator, which is also terribly rusty, but in a different and less rustic way. With any luck, one of our Spanish speakers will contribute a better translation for us! -------------------- - Quote :
- Well, as my first post, this time I bring you some observations of the episode 2.17 "White Tulip" a standalone episode but pretty exciting and emotional.
As you know the colors green and red have been very present in this season, being related to the Observers and this chapter is no exception: the first would be the balloon which Alistair Peck saw by which he failed to understand the theories about time travel and also where he landed to try to save his wife. And the second is Alistair's wife's car which was a strange red like the balloon, and even more unusual is that behind her was a green building:
. And as red and green can not be separated, at least not in Fringe, green appears several times in this episode, one of the first is the green jacket worn by the boy asking for coins in the train station and the other is when the team discovered that Alistair Peck worked at MIT. When perhaps his only friend is talking about Alistair, the wall behind her is green:
. In this episode, we saw several blue lights which you know are increasing in frequency. Well as I have noticed, the blue lights appear when a large amount of energy is involved; in this episode Alistair robbed energy from anything around him at the time of landing, including organic and inorganic matter.
.
FringeLatino: La mejor fuente sobre Fringe en español: Observaciones en el 2.17 My only quibble is that sometimes the blue lights appear when there is no apparent involvement of energy; in The Same Old Story ("The Magic Old Man Baby and The Pregnant Woman" ) for example, there are lots of blue flashes when Peter saves the girl's life with his homemade defibrillator, but also in the beginning there are lots of blue flashes when Christopher and the first victim are in the car, and she is in the hospital---my guess has been the blue flashes involve life or death moments-------which certainly could be the case here! Still, I am very excited to have someone else working on this theme, and giving a way to move forward on the ideas. ---Andres, if you read this, please let us know what you think about the red, yellow, blue combination!(eta: now with thumbnails.)

| Oh, my ! What a wonderful episode ! I'm enthusiastic ! I loved it. Noble is fantastic again. His performance is so delicate. Great theme too. These episodes, after the "Peter-revelation", are like different varations on a theme, always the same. "How far would you go for someone you love?" said Boone in Midnight... Beautiful episode ! | |

| Here's an easter egg from this episode, anyone got any idea what it may mean? --I'll haul out my runes and symbols charts and have a go, but maybe someone has an idea? | |

| Peter Weller on 'Dexter,' 'Fringe,' 'Robocop,' reality TV, and more: an interview - Quote :
- Oh, and Fringe fans adore Weller for his tender performance last season as an emotionally fragile widower in the second-season episode “White Tulip.”
“I steer away from episodic TV; it burns you out. But my wife read the Fringe script and said, ‘You’ve got to do this, it’s beautiful, it’s about a guy who wants to save his wife.’ There was a four-page scene between me and John Noble. That’s rare for television — wonderfully written. I was thrilled to do that [show].”

| "blows dust off some furniture* This episode really stood out, what with Peter Weller and the wires sticking out of his skin. It was so gruesome, but poetic. ha, ha, ha, ha! I like that one, Lez! | |
