| I think the reason they called peter "leonard", is because the casting side always change names characters to confuse people about who is talking. so they called him leonard like a "joke" you know ....leonard nimoy.Thats what I think | |

| Oh no, I think that's the usual "let's give a fake name to this character so if there's a official "non-official" leak everyone will wonder who it is" thing.
They do that on every TV shows.

| It's back a bit, a page or so.
I think the Carla thing was so much later that it won't have anything to do necessarily with this young Peter; in this he is 9, the fire was just before Walter was hauled off, and Peter was in highschool, nearly 10 years later.

| EW has a great article about the new "Death" promo, and its spoofing of chicken little critics (including 13-yo dog that's a fave of mine ) 'Fringe' exclusive: Fox execs on its 'deathslot'-spoofing promo and plans to attract new viewers | |

| Ugggghhhhhhhhhhh: (no offense meant to teenagers, but please, FOX, what made Fringe exceptional was that it was a show adults liked, too, not just the comicbook crowd. I guess this explains the increasing fart jokes. yay.) - Quote :
- The promo is the beginning of a larger effort by Fox to shore up
Fringe’s existing fanbase and hopefully grow the audience by targeting teen viewers who might be at home Friday night. (The show returns on Jan. 21) Fox will continue posting “pre-caps” (as opposed to “recaps”) at Fox.com featuring cast members and producers setting up each new episode. For viewers, they’re a more entertaining and personal approach to “Previously on…” rehashes. Additionally, Norris also says future on-air promos will emphasize Fringe’s horror elements, albeit not right away, as the first episodes on the new year are relatively light on Fringe-style gore. “We are trying to rebrand Friday, and what we’re trying to do with this show specifically is make it kind of like forbidden fruit,” says Norris. “We want that teen demographic that might not be our audience right now to say, ‘That this is a show my parents might not want me to watch — but I’m going to watch it, anyway.’” Spoilertv-latest from EW

| FOX to retarget Fringe to teenagers... - Quote :
- FOX is 100% committed to Fringe, just not the Fringe you’ve been watching.
In comments made to EW’s Jeff Jensen, FOX execs described their game-plan to save the show – which doesn’t need saving, according to them (confusing!) – by reinventing the image of Fringe from dense character driven adult SciFi to rebellious-teen targeted horror.
“We are trying to re-brand Friday, and what we’re trying to do with this show specifically is make it kind of like forbidden fruit,” Dean Norris told EW’s Jeff Jensen. “We want that teen demographic that might not be our audience right now to say, ‘That this is a show my parents might not want me to watch — but I’m going to watch it, anyway.’” Note to FOX: number of teen Fringe characters: Zero. - Quote :
- So an interesting week for Fringe fans all together. First, don't worry
FOX is completely in support of Fringe – a show they feel they need to give a complete face-lift in order to flesh out the audience with children; and the “bloggers” out here supporting the show and trying to point fans in a constructive direction are being targeted through their presumed vanity in order to undo the ‘damage’ they are doing to the show … which FOX has just moved into a ratings desert. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

| That reminds me of another bad idea, SciFi wanting to attract new viewers -younger viewers- and thus, cancelling Stargate Atlantis and creating "SGU". Duh. | |

| Oh yes, duh is right! ---and didn't they just cancel SGU as well? So that didn't work out very well either. | |

| Perhaps they were tossing out the idea of reformatting for teenagers to see what people think? Since they have a month.
I've noticed a bunch of 'fringeprojectthingy' stuff out there, that seems spammy, and more designed to drive traffic to certain sites. sigh. No, I don't want to read a million tweets about going to someone's site to support Fringe. Or tumblr posts of the same.

- Question: Do you think Fox moving Fringe to Fridays is the kiss of death for the show? What's the reasoning behind the move? — Troy
Matt Roush: In most circumstances, I'd say without hesitation that a move like Fringe to Fridays is a harbinger of failure. But Fox is confronting the situation head-on, cutting an entertaining promo refudiating (as they say in some parallel universe) the gloom-and-doom prognosticators. Fox isn't doing this blindly. They know the challenges of getting an audience on Friday, and they also know Fringe's small but fierce fan base is a loyal one, so the hope is that if Fringe can carry enough of its audience to Fridays, factoring in strong DVR playback numbers as well, the network might still see this as a win. Not that anyone who has championed the show during this remarkable season is happy about this. But you ask why this happened, and the answer boils down to two words: American Idol. Nothing is more important to Fox's bottom line than this show, and with its new scheduling on Wednesdays and Thursdays, something had to give. And that something was Fringe. Which probably has the best chance among any of Fox's cult series to do business on Fridays, and those with long memories remember that The X-Files did OK on that night (although it did better once it was moved to Sundays). But honestly, spinning this positively is a case of desperately trying to find a silver lining in a pretty dark cloud.

| So do you think that vid (with the death quotes) was targeted at the reviewers, or the fans? Or what, exactly? To tell the reviewers to stop worrying, or the fans? Cause it seemed more targeted at the reviewers, taking a strip off them, esp. with the quotes. I don't read some of them, but some I have, and really, they don't sound like they need taking to the woodshed. It's curious. It seems to me the fansites and critics and interviewers have been working their hearts out to support Fringe; maybe this will be the rarely-remembered third season of a long and amazing run. I hope so. | |

| Fox is always ahead of its challengers.
They make fun of themselves (ex : The Simpsons), they do special "special" episodes (Glee hommage week), they do funny/weird trailers (Fringe Fridays death slot promo).
I just hope people are going to watch Fringe.

| 10 Best TV Series of 2010: Ken Tucker's Picks - Quote :
- 2. Fringe
TV's most cleverly arranged drama, full of thrills and strained relationships, laughs and nuanced acting. John Noble, Anna Torv, and the deceptively restrained Joshua Jackson should, in other words, be Emmy nominees, and Fringe deserves more credit for building the enthusiastic audience it has created.

| Maybe it will work. People will wonder about how it's going to be different with Fringe, and they'll watch. | |
