Fringe returns on April 1st with the highly anticipated flashback episode "Peter." Who, or what, is Peter? Kidnap victim from another dimensions? That would seem to be the obvious answer, but the truth is we do not know – but we soon will. "Peter" goes back and tells us the full back-story behind why Peter shimmers when Olivia looks at him – no, its not because he is Twilight vampire, it's because he is from 'Over There', and now you will see just what Walter did. Keep in mind, Walter's actions may have been viewed as an interdimensional incident that set off all of this nastiness between us and them, or maybe something else. The really good news for Fringe fans is that we have gotten our hands on a preview clip for Fringe "Peter", and we're going to let you watch it. Right now. Obviously, the clip is very spoilerish. It depicts a critical moment in this very plot – Walter's passing over to the other dimension. Stay tuned for more details.

I always thought Nina had lied to Olivia in the pilot about her arm.. but what was she going to say, "oh, I sliced my arm off on an interdimensional rift that Walter opened when he was retrieving Peter from another universe so at least one copy of him would live"? Talk about liquid brains, Nina would have had to use a sponge and bowl to pick Olivia off the floor.
------>love that William was a skunk from the beginning!

I was thinking, we can see her arm "glimmering/shimmering" after she sat down. Peter said he was always sick, maybe a consequence to the travel, so maybe Nina had cancer because her arm was over there ?

i can remember an interview when TPTB said that Nina was not injured in a teleportation accident.... that confirms they cannot be trusted

Some of those images are cut off, the bottom part missing, when you click on them.
I love how much they tried to (and have succeeded, really) make John look like Josh. The great mop of unruly hair certainly helps. And how cool is that viewing window!
So, it sounds like Walter went to steal Peter from Over There because otherwise he would have died there as well. And that while William wanted to go over there for money and power, Walter only went to save Peter.
Or, should I say, Walter went Over There and back in time to before Peter died there too, to save him. I just watched The Equation last night, and that music had to do with time travel....

They're going to give us a couple of repeat episodes starting this thursday--August, and then Jacksonville will repeat on the 25th...so we have it fresh in our minds again for 'Peter' I suppose.
I saw an episode list and it looks like no episode on May 6.... does anyone know?

I remember about that as well. Do you remember a) who exactly said that? and b) what exactly they said? Was it 'weaselly'?

Yes, it seems like there's no episodes on May 6th, as the Finale is supposed to be on May 20th. Nothing is confirmed yet, though.

So they're making the finale a two hour movie-event, I guess. Fits with their previous wondering if they were going to get cancelled, they wanted to make it a big, big deal.
Oh, and on the researching the past front, that transporter device definitely deals with time travel... and the hyperbaric chamber and its environs were very cold in abilitY. My theory as of 3:32 am my time is that Walter did indeed see Alfred Grosz, to cure our Peter, when he was unable to cure the first one----and that Peter was both sick from the effects of the travel, and learned to hate cold from the icy lake and a possible couple of weeks in a chamber decompressing. Though that you'd think he'd remember.
Also, Olivia grins at Markham when he suggests she and Peter are more than just friends, and really grins at him when they leave; plus she stares at some of the book titles but I can't get them to resolve enough to see what she's looking at particularly.
And, I'd forgotten just how awful the storyline in the transformation was--all basically a wedding prezzie to Anna and KenDoll, I think, as his protestations of innocence don't make any sense, my guess: influenced by the network to give her a warm fuzzy closure on John the way they pressure for happy endings on some other stories--the many 'you'll be fine' scenes tacked on. It feels so gooey and false I just fast forward through most of it. Except the rescuing her from the tank part, and her relief at Peter holding her. . .*smile*

After seeing nearly another year of episodes in between, that episode just felt out of place to me, far weirder than the resurrected one with the russian dead/not dead guy. And even though it seemed to be lavishing up on John, cleaning up his reputation, you'll note it's only himsaying he was a good guy, and not proving it; the car windows are darkened, he could have been shooting at anyone, and the line about them going to be killing Conrad needing to be totally off books and deniable? Not hardly. Sadly enough, the US government isn't all that fastidious about whom it kills, and killing a bioterrorist would have been a feather in someone's cap, not something they'd have hidden.
Plus, the anger and distrust Peter has of John in that scene could simply be because he is protective of Olivia, or it could also be because he distrusts him with reason... being a reforming conman himself, and also in touch somehow with Olivia's emotions.
A gal I email with said she thought that episode was mainly to fix up Valley's persona for 'Human Target', sort of a huge screen test for that.

I can barely see them myself, the fox site is so cumbersome. And it won't let you replay, so you have to pay close attention, or reload-----and I have roses to plant and weeds to burn, so I will let them load, go outside, and come back to watch them....arghf.
